POSTGAME: Rd 06 vs Brisbane
All of those reasons are why you go to the footy with your boy rather than just watch it in the telly. I love the days I get to go with my boy and my old man, theyโre the memories I take with me.

Not sure if it's been posted, but nothing to see from a Match Review Officer perspective for Kossie's bump on Answerth. https://www.afl.com.au/news/1502696/match-review-west-coast-eagle-and-fremantle-docker-fined-for-western-derby-wrestle

First 6 rounds
Out of the next 6 weeks, I just hope we beat Hawthorn. Fairly convincingly would also be nice.

PREGAME: Rd 07 vs Richmond
Agree whole heartedly Jumbo. His professionalism kicking the goal after the siren in the grannie - when I would have just hoiked it into the crowd to start celebrating 5 seconds earlier - is the reason that grannie was our greatest ever winning margin. It's that same professionalism as to why he's still on the list, but (not unlike Maysie), he's now in the "still very capable, but unfortunately too slow" basket.

My 3 word player analysis V Brisbane
Jeffo - beautiful contested mark

POSTGAME: Rd 06 vs Brisbane
Loved the scarf waving to the Irish jig after a goal. I didnโt think Iโd be hearing that fiddle much, but it got better and better. I reckon Jim would have been as proud of the club as I feel right now.

Loved Rooโs hanger over Andrews. I thought Xavier Taylor showed a bit on debut as well. Proud of that team effort. Massive win

PREGAME: Rd 06 vs Brisbane
The four outs being replaced by the four ins has dropped our average team age stat by about 15 years

Partly cloudy, 19 degrees on Sunday arvo. I'm actually confident we'll put on a better show this week than last.

HAD A GUTFULL
I thought this thread was about the umpires decision in the third quarter in the game on Saturday when Kolt carried the ball over the boundary line and was called for insufficient intent. I cracked the [censored] at that point and turned off the telly. I was hopeful this lasso rule would rid the game of these crazy "umpire has no integrity" interpretation rules. F'n afl. Rant over.

Farewell Steven May
Similarly to when Jake Lever finds himself with a shot on goal, I was never convinced that May was actually going to kick one when he had a set shot. To be fair, they were typically from about or outside 50. So I was always comfortable with playing a bloody good full back at full back.

Farewell Steven May
He's already beaten in one game the amount of goals he kicked for the dees in 7 seasons.

PREGAME: Rd 05 vs Essendon
Really looking forward to seeing how Mihochek, JVR, Melksham and Fritta work together in the forward line, with a couple of Picketts thrown in (not you, fence).

The Jake Melksham appreciation thread
Loved @Temporarily Hopeful Demon 's memory lane summary - job very well done mate. Special re-mention for the 2018 semi final goal vs hawks - I also went nuts with my boy when he kicked that. But oddly, my favourite Melk memory was just a kick he made at marvel vs Saints off the half back line in about 2020-21ish. He kicked a 55m low, hard dart through the guts, completely sliced open the saints through traffic to an open player ahead of the centre square who then went on and goaled. It was such a venomous, accurate kick - low and hard. I watched it over and over. Was a ripper, much like Harmes' kick to Fritta in the 21 granny. Just visionary and beautifully executed.

What a cutie. How can you not love a red and blue pom pom?

Sub for intro to Binman's Stats Files Pod
In true self deprecating fashion, maybe we could introduce some binnie influenced segments: Howโs It Bin?: A general weekly review title. Whereโs He Bin?: for missing-in-action players. Long Time No Bin: covers players making a long-awaited comeback. "Top bins" is officially in the Oxford English Dictionary to describe a goal in the top corner. The Bin-ishers: A play on "the finishers." Get in the Bin: Ideal for a "hot takes" or "room 101" style segment where you "bin" bad refereeing or poor performances. The Binbag Brigade: A self-deprecating name for pundits with "trash" opinions. Bin It or Win It: A segment-based title where you decide if a teamโs performance was good or garbage. Straight to the Sin Bin: focuses on the "dark arts" of football and controversy.

PREGAME: Rd 05 vs Essendon
Sam Draper has given me nightmares over the last couple of years in this game. I'm glad he's not playing (although it only delays the nightmare one week to the Brisbane game)

Amazing what a bit of confidence can do for a player

Dees under fire regarding sensitive and personal information.
This is how it was reported by Caro last night on Agenda Setters - i.e. that an invitee to the meeting recorded it, not the club.

TRAINING: Tuesday 7th April 2026
I'd have laughed at this twice if I was allowed.

The Free Kick Ladder - 2026
I'm surprised that the top 8 sides are all Melbourne based sides, normally the crowd affirmation for interstate sides is worth a bit. Geelong averaging 10 free kicks more a game than their opposition is bs.
