I like the "add-on" membership idea for the MCC members. Perhaps the dees need to look into ways of creating further "add-on" members. This could perhaps be done with the Melbourne Storm, Melbourne Victory or Heart. Strike a deal with these clubs, so existing storm/heart/victory members can get a membership for $50 dollars that may entitle them to 3 home games of their choice per year (would need to be their choice due to scheduling conflicts between the sports). The same deal could then be offered to Melbourne supporters for the soccer/rugby. Because you need to have an existing membership for victory/heart/storm, we guard ourselves from members downgrading because there would be the initial cost of the other membership involved. It also adds value to MFC members if they wish to see another sport on weeks where the dees are interstate. This could entice some Melbourne fans to get a membership with the benefit of an add on membership for the soccer/rugby. Adding value to members is key, but opening up to new audiences with low pricing would be a good way to get the club out there. My target would be Melbourne Heart, as they are the fresh face on the block and do need to grow their brand. Storm and Victory would be a nicer platform to launch from, but getting the deal done would take some serious work. Storm only have 7000 members, this arrangement could boost them up the rankings in membership also. Just throwing it out there.

FACT: Dees are under the cap, and are front loading salaries making it easy for the club to keep kids. FACT: Ricky may be a target, but the GC's primary targets will be the big money makers. By the time the deals spill through to the lower profile targets you might find the money is very similar to what we can offer Ricky. FACT: He is a required player regardless of his form here and there. He will be offered his worth in $$$ at the MFC. If the GC want to overpay for him, then they will need to compensate the club. If he wants to leave and we get a pick in return, then that is fine by me. WE want players that want to play for the club. My bet is that Ricky gets a 3 year deal with the MFC and becomes a very good player for the MFC.

It is sad to hear Carroll has fallen so far from grace. The truth is he still has what many listed players do not have. Blind courage, and massive testicular fortitude. If you could bottle that part of Carroll it would be a winning formula. The rest of Carroll seems to be venom, which he is using to poison himself. I hope he sorts himself out, and makes good with a life that could be better spent.

Maybe Cam Bruce and Jones are saving their cash to donate to the debt demolition...........

This years Dees V Crows at the G will be a much different style of game. I expect to see more running and cleaner use of the football for both teams. Last year was awful, I happily volunteered to queue up for beers/coffees that week knowing that I would not be missing much.

If he can keep this up he may very well be the leading tackle getter at the seasons end. I cannot recall a kid ever landing this many tackles in consecutive weeks. Something special happening down at the MFC!

It has been a while since we have beaten the crows. Even with some poor form and Goodwin out I think we would still have to play some damn good footy to get over the line. Could be an interesting game.

Gawn also could be very handy going forward with his size! SO many options coming our way, you will need a shoehorn just to squeeze into the best 22! It will be that tight!

The filth are the filth. They [censored] me off to no end which is why I usually go the the dees V pies game with my entourage of demon mates. These know it all idiot filth types seem to back down when you have a group of strapping young lads who would love nothing more to knock out the 2 or 3 remaining teeth they have left in their s%it dribbling mouths. Although, football wouldn't be half as fun if we all got along!

There is plenty of talent around the traps. Time will turn talent into solid players. Soon other clubs will be saying "If we had a scully, trengove or Watts type we could contend for the flag" We have those types, they are just not yet ready to rip it up. With the amount of talent we have on the sidelines, we should be able to start pushing some teams for a WIN when they get back!

Rohan Bail = Nathan "Brown Dog" Brown Mach2? This would be a good thing. Add some polish to Brown dogs lesser points (hitting a target) and you have yourself a solid 200 gamer that can beat opponents without the flashy fanfare of an afl superstar.

Jordie is HARD AT IT! This is something we have lacked for some time. Nothing thrills me more than the thought of becoming the rough hard tackling team of the AFL. A few more hard nuts and teams will think twice about that extra bounce. Jordie has won the fans over!

Ball has certainly fallen from grace. I would have loved him at the right price, but I now wonder how much he has left in the tank. Not as much as I first thought! Still a decent player, but damn his career is dimming faster than it should be.

Dunny was alright, but one game is one game. If we handed out 3 year contracts for one game Shannon Motlop would still be on our list! I hope Dunny can kick on and be a part of it all. I wait hoping he can!

If Alex Silvagni wins a brownlow medal during his career I will consider him "slipping" and error. Truth be told players like silvagni are handy, but are a dime a dozen. Chances are we will end up with 3-5 silvagni types over the next few drafts, that will be younger and do the exact same thing! Recruiters cannot be blamed for everything. Every team has a history of great and poor picks. It is part of the game of recruiting.

Can't see us winning this one, and given last weeks display i expect the dees to come out fighting....for 3 quarters. Pies by 48.

Miller has the best backman on him every week. Plain and simple, he is a handy forward, not a key forward. He can return to a 2 goal game with some strong marks if we develop a key forward to take the focus of Miller, and the best backman off him.

If Jack Watts is fit, he needs to play. We need something! Blease could be interesting, I look forward to seeing him play when he is ready PJ can take Spencers spot, have to say it but PJ is in our best team at the moment. Sylvia will play.

I wish deep down in my heart that the reason we are light years behind the rest of the comp is due to our coach. I think the truth is there are some deeper questions that need answering, yes the coach is one- but our list and recruitment need to also get a fine look over. Bails may not have been able to combat and create a strategy to help us on the weekend, but he sure as hell wasn't the one hand passing to the opposition and dropping easy marks. It is clear that all us dees fans are out for blood. We have been patient in this "development phase", but development usually means going forward. Getting flogged by an undermanned hawks is far from what I would call development of any kind. If the development starts and we push the pies this weekend maybe we can start to put this behind us. Odds are against that happening.
