  1. CHA-CHING! Pension week = Debt Demolition!
  2. Was at the Casey Demons annual breakfast yesterday. One very interesting thing out of Chris Connelly's mouth was that he and Todd Viney will be sitting down this weekend discussing the deal that will see Jack draft in 2/3 drafts time under the father son. I am not 100% sure what this means, as I am unaware of any moves or precedents that allow you to deal ahead of a draft. Connelly said was that Jack Viney is ripping it up at Jnr level, and that he WILL be playing for the MFC. Straight from the horses mouth.
  3. I wonder if any of the "attributes" surfaced during his time at Melbourne. It might explain why he was a surprise delisting at the time. Dees looking good after that move.
  4. I would like to see the following: 1) Nik Nat to get dominated by the Russian 2) Commentators to learn our players names 3) A WIN for the Red & Blue
  5. Bruce will be back on another 2 year contract- if the price is right. The development of the list has been great, but with so many kids yet to show they can run with the best we need to hold onto some of the vets who know how to play on the big stage. Bruce has been playing like a true champ lately. You never know, his off field leadership could be one of he reasons our kids are turning the corner. You just never know the full worth of a player!!
  6. Here here! Get some games under their belts asap and we will be all the better going forward.
  7. His contract may end in October this year, and expect him to be offered a 2 year deal by the end of the year. Best game I have seen in years! Bruce was sublime.
  8. He was "rangtastic" last night!
  9. Good young leader, but I think he still has a way to go before he takes the helm.
  10. Goal Umps are Obsolete. 2 goals taken from off after they were called goals by the goal ump. Just put traffic lights in for a replacement. Saves the f&cking heartache of having a goal ripped from us. Green for goal, red for point, and amber for waiting for the [censored] with the whistle to guess which way it goes.
  11. Wow, I can't see a spot for him in this side even in 4 weeks time. Would love him to get a game but he needs to earn it. We shall see............
  12. If he plays 22 games not a soul will get close to him. Absolute freaking gun.
  13. Hughes gets his chance. I am one who really hopes he has a blinder. He has had a shocking run and bloody deserves some good luck to go his way. His career hangs on his performances this year, so get behind him at the ground and show him some demon love. Really hoping #38 can kick 3 or 4.
  14. Too many guys knocking on the door to get into this team. A sub par performance will earn you a week or several at Casey. As the list depth grows, so does the competition to remain in the side.
  15. If the 2000 flag came to us by default I would ji#z in my pants. DEFAULT DEFAULT DEFAULT On a serious note, I think the saints and dons will be right. Even if they did breach they would only cop a fine and be stripped a draft pick or two.
  16. Chip has better pace than Warnock, and I think they both lads are similar in strength. Chip for me, but I can't help thinking Bailey will got with Warnock to start with. Who for Murphy? Could try Garland perhaps.
  17. The only glaring difference between the dogs and dees is: -They are clearly better than us! Would love the dees to get the win, but it would take more than our best footy to beat them this time around. If the dogs don't show up with their best game, and we bring ours, then we might be talking about an upset this round.
  18. Depends on how much cash they want. I am all for strengthening our list, but over paying players is a no-no when developing a young team. We do not want to set a precedent for playing players more than their worth. Given Bruce is off the books next year (currently our buggest money earner) we have more than enough cap room for wither PA player. Bruce might re-sign for less, this still gives us room to buy up if we choose. If Ricky stays on, still look at picking up the best available player. The Gold Coast are going to be busy hunting down maligned kids from other teams. My money is Gray cashing in on the GC.
  19. This thread is an utter disgrace. When you lose someone in your family to cancer, then maybe you will appreciate the campaigns that clubs run to create funding and awareness. Nothing screams different like a pink/yellow/purple or gold jumper. It is different enough for people to sit up and say 'hey, what is up with that'. There is your awareness- and with that awareness comes the funding. Hats off to all of the people who put time and effort into making this happen. I hope to see you all at the game, I will not be wearing pink, but I will be cheering my lungs out for the boys that are wearing pink. Go dees!
  20. Don't ever worry about AFL becoming like soccer. They are worlds apart. I won't go on about my dislike for Soccer, because it is not needed. But blind freddy could tell you that even with huge changes to the game that they are still very different sports, and will always remain this way.
  21. Female commentators work well in other sports. So far I am not sold on the AFL's trial, but this could be something that gets better with time. There are some hacks around of the male variety right now. If a female can come in and do a better job give her the seat. At the end of the day, as long as they get it right that will do for me.
  22. To be honest both marks are just making up the numbers for the week. I did not go to grab the kleenex for either mark. Sylvia's mark was the better out of the 2 for me.
  23. I love having an ace up my sleeve. People know about the kids we have playing, they don't know about the Gyz and Blease who are yet to lace up the boots. Adds to the buzz of having new kids to develop to take the club up a notch. Need something to look forward to, can't have all your presents in one xmas!
  24. Interesting poll. My heart says Watts- I want him in so he can start working on his craft. My brain says PJ- Can be handy, and lessens the risk of Jamar burning out by round 15. My gut says Hughes- he is more hungry than the aforementioned players, and it is the hunger up forward we need to kick a score. Newton is done. Miller is on the cusp being left in the doghouse all season long (unless he kicks a monster bag and takes Bailey out for a steak lunch). Maric has all the hallmarks of an AFL bust...........god I hope he proves me wrong, i really do.
  25. Rivo is a handy player to have on your list. He will have to rework part of his game, but I would back him to do so. Tough character who is a leader and will reclaim a spot. Will take him a number of games to get a feel for the game again.
