The handball from the pack to Bruce was a beauty. Pity about the subsequent kick from #32.

Like Hannabal I've done a full 180 on Wonaeamirri.

Now we just need RR to do a Fonz, and admit he was wrong. Nah, can't see it happening. B)

he needs to start being talked about as a genuine threat to win the Rising Star. He is every bit as good as C.Rioli, especially considering the supply and the forwards he gets to rove off.

I agree with the comparison with Rioli, however I think Houli and Palmer are in front in the race for the Rising Star.

well houli didn't play on the weekend and palmer cant kick to save his life!

has anyone notice that aussie is actually a ball magnet too! this year his disposal have all been double figures not one match where he has gotten less then 10 possessions.

i have said that aswell aussie will make a late claim for the rising star! going just as good as rioli

His vision and quick hands in packs was what really impressed me about the kid.

Correct, he is a one grab player even when the ball is bouncing awkwardly and he seems to know where his team mates are at all times.

His handpasses from a pack to Davey and Bruce in the last qtr were first class.

What makes him great is exactly the OPPOSITE of the things that make Davey great. Aaron's too small to be a lead-up forward, too light to cop the big hits... He has survived and thrived on the fact that he has an exceptional footy brain, and does the freaky things more often than not. Austin doesn't do so many flashy things... He leads, takes marks, runs hard, tackles hard, doesn't take a backward step. He's a solid marking target despite being tiny. Its this reason I have high hopes for him. So often we get a player come out of the blocks early in their careers, and being pessimists, we look at them more in terms of what will hold them back, instead of what will make them great... Austin has all the solidity of a young Byron...

I have not seen Aussie do enough for mine to suggest that he is more than a fringe player in a poor side.

Austen just keeps getting better Rhino-He was Fabulous Yesterday. He could be a dead set Melbourne Legend. I sure hope so. He and Davey work so well together.
