Probably because we were a lot less predictable. But I like Green at FF for most, but not all the time.

This is blasphemous, but I believe we will be more competitive with David Neitz out of the side. With Dunn to come in next week, we may develop quite a versatile and potent forward line over the coming weeks

dunn played today though

Sorry. Mind-slip. I meant to say Bate.

Yep it's going be tough to replace Neitz.

Who else is going to provide us with 3 goals in 5 matches?

Neitz needs to go permanently

exactly. neitz has been contributing nothing this season. right at this point in time, we'll be a better side without him, but i do hope he gets himself right and finishes off his last season with some form and fitness he's been severly lacking.

What do you think he's thinking about all this. Playing on, bad form, injury, and a Club in crisis. Is he regretting not retiring, is he sad to see the club like this? It would be interesting to hear an interview with him in which he actually tells us what he's thinking, rather than just the stock-standard responses.

Sylvia and Green rotating at FF is an option or just Green there because of Sylvia's form.

Newton depends of sandy form

Bate on injury

bate...not newton. bate is sooooo soooo much better than newton and has more potential because he tries hard and has second efforts.

Jamar ;)

ARGHHHHHHHHHH!

Bate is a must inclusion, and Miller will be back next week too (get over it  ).

Time for Green to stand up and deliver. He was good up forward today and this is where he must stay.

It seems that for the first time in many years, our forward line is our biggest weakness. Sadly, we have nobody waiting in the wings to fill Neita's shoes at FF.

A smaller forward line could work if, like Bailey wants us to, we move the ball quickly (quickly does not equal "round and around until we see an opponent and [censored] ourselves).

I wouldn't laugh so much about Jamar.

Could be a bit of a surprise packet up forward if he has a half decent game.

When Paul Johnson comes back rotate him and White in ruck/forward pocket.

Old school resting ruckman style!

Neitz - a great player but needs a tap on the shoulder - he and White sould both nominate the Collingwood Queens Birthday game as their last for Melbourne - time for them both to move on - greatplayers for the club, but the game has gone past them.

The game is now that quick, that in the forwrd line you just need one big physical mobile player and everyone else needs to be realy mobile - look at Haawthorn - basically all athletes (altough that Franklin guy has a bit of ability)

I hated posters who bag Neiter. He has been a great player/servant/role model etc. for our club. But till he was injured today, just watching him fumble, drop marks, hang on to the ball too long, unable to give off a quick handball or knock on to a player going past, was just plain embarrasing. It hurts to write this.

I've met Roughead - he is one very impressive kid - he is pretty quick and if Hawthorn ever wanted to trade him, I'd grab him in a heartbeat

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
