Robertson & Miller

Recommended Posts

Last trade period, Miller and Robbo were the only sought after players from MFC as far as I am aware; Miller by Sydney, Robbo by the Bullies.

This forum have given both players heaps of flack. Maybe time to put the personals aside, and listen to the pros.

There is no doubt that Bailey rates both players: after the cats game, he spoke admiringly of Robbo's aerobic and anaerobic capacity. His positive comments about Miller have been listed elsewhere.

These are both quality players who do not get the highest $'s out of a cap. They should be recognised as quality, if not at the highest level.

Robbo has been with the club 10 years now... surely you know how to at least pronounce his friggen name properly!!!!!!

Robbo is clearly a spent force at the moment, his heart is not fully behind his footy, and needs to lift his game

Brad Miller has done all we could have asked of him so far, he is never going to be a champion, but he is a workhorse, and should continue to grow in confidence, a game at CHF on the G will prove some doubters wrong!!!

I think DB rates different aspects of each player. Having said that I would say it those aspects of Miller which he admires more than some of the aspects of Robbo that he does not.

I cant recall DB dragging Miller a number of times for indiscretions. I think Robbo is struggling.

Yes..and if you listened carefully to Bails he did indeed speak of Robbos aerobic capacity.. his motro etc. That she effected a spoil fruther up field. I thought that rather strange myself to talk of that when discussing. I mean.. Robbo is a forward. Didnt speak too much about his great effort near the sticks.. or his dmaging affect on the scorebaord.. NO. He spoke of his need to work a bit harder and get results.

Or maybe we just hear different things !!

Yep Swannies wanted Miller so badly they offered 5 bottle tops.. , a Blockbuster coupon and a packet of crisps !!-_-

god bless you misses robinson!

hahaha its funy becauses mrs robertson would perhaps be a better name for him nowadays....

Robbo was a champion, but over the last three weeks he's shown little to prove his place in the team. I hope this changes, but if not we must have no qualms about giving him the axe to let him get back into form at sandy

Miller...Hrm i just still don't know. I feel every 1 or 2 games i watch he does something that makes me sit up and think, 'hey!,' but then i'm not sure if that's just because the bar has been set lower or what, still willing to give him more time because after all, what else is this year about

Frosty's best footy is when he is at CHF leading up the ground. When he does this there needs to be another tall filling his space as the next option to kick to.

Miller as a deep forward does not work for me. When he stays inside or around the 50, he doesn't kick enough goals as a CHF should (a huge problem).

He needs to be told to kick for goal when he's inside the 50. He needs to become more greedy. None of this dishing off to a running player 99% of the time. When he does this, more times than not he gives it to a player under pressure from their opponent.

He also needs his mongrel to return, controlled mongrel. DB is working on this i think. It's time for Miller to become greedy and demand the footy, no matter what position of the ground he is placed.

Could not agree with you more Demon Disciple.

I believe Miller is a confidence player. (along with alot of our team). I think he should always be played at CHF. I have a dvd at home which is called "demons magical moments" or something of the sort and it has a section on Miller. When he is up and about he is a great player to have.

The times people bag him are mainly when he is playing in the backline and I really don't think he understands how to play that position.

I thought Miller did some great things against Geelong and I really hope he stays at CHF this year.

For Robbo. I think he is lacking in his defensive pressure at the moment. Doesn't chase/block/talk/handball. Really has to start thinking TEAM rather than GOAL or MARK of the year every round.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
