ahh so that was you...Great Work Mate! He is a total [censored]

Andy Maher is a total [censored],I happen to think Patrick Smith does a lot of research for his articles. Could be wrong but i think we need to listen to what he has to say. If our club is heritage listed what does that mean exactly? What part is listed-the name, or the club and its address?? This is no joke

Over the past few days we have all seen the articles about how Melbourne is in trouble on and off the field.

It's depressing, and for many we have seen it all before with the failed merger attempt in 1996. Right now much of what is being written is simply off the back of one bad game. But before things get too much worse, what YOU going to do about it?

I realise that most people who write on this forum are already giving up more than their fair share, while it is those supporters who do next to nothing that are the problem. I've tried to get many Melbourne supporters I know to become members, and it isn't always easy.

That's why I'm going to holding off getting a golf membership (which I have been saving up for, for many months while on a minimum wage and studying) and use part of that money to buy a Melbourne membership for my football hating girlfriend.

I also pledge to make more of an effort to see Melbourne play, no matter how bad they are travelling.

Big or small, what are you going to do?

just bought 3 memberships and signed up for the lotto syndicate.

and don't worry about appealing to the folk around here, i'm sure there are plenty who read or post on here who are not members. a simple plea to them; we have/are waiting a long time for the elusive flag, how will you feel after 40+ years of waiting if you only became a member when things started looking up? i know i'd feel a bit hollow. show your heart and be a member through the tough times, you'll appreciate the ultimate success soo much more WHEN it comes.

Also - tomorrow I am making my return as a volunteer at the Melbourne Football Club after not having done so for quite a while (over 12 months I think...).

Nice one - what are you doing?

Last year instead of buying the full MFC/MCC membership, I only bought the $40.

The reason for this is, instead of just buying a membership for me - I also bought one for 4 of my Melbourne supporting mates who are MCC but not MFC members. Increases the membership tally by 4 and the club gets my money.

I'll do that again.

I also pledge to do everything I can to get this 2nd 150 Club Syndicate up and running.

Also - tomorrow I am making my return as a volunteer at the Melbourne Football Club after not having done so for quite a while (over 12 months I think...).

Nice one Mick. From my experience you have always been very active. You are not just a supporter but a contributor and we need more like you...

"On a site like this this thread is pointless. "

Doesn't it make you want to pyss blood, "Undeniable"! You hear the media saying that the trouble with Melbourne is "there's no passion"! And you know that you give your guts as a spectator (and supporter) at games , to the point where people think you're obsessed! Then the media tells you we don't care!!!! AAAARRRRGHHHH!!!!

You're right, it's not us Demonlanders . Here, we preach to the converted. It is amazing, however , even on this forum, that there is such a diversity of opinion on what should be done!

I agree with above posters that the "crisis" is media-driven. The achievements of the current admin. have been overlooked(debt reduction, membership increase, appointment of McNamee, and of DB, plus the Olympic Park precinct development). We lost round one badly.

We should look at it from the point of view that the only way is up, and we CAN do it.

I thought i'd be doing MFC a favour by bringing two people who moved down from Sydney to their first AFL match, as they wanted to take an interest in footy

Unfortunately they are now Hawthorn supporters

I'm heading into the membership department - probably processing etc.

Not sure how much there will be to do though...!

If you ever take people again, take them to the MELBOURNEfc store and buy them a scarf first.

Then they're stuck.

we train across the road from junction oval and anyway went out today and bought an official "150th" melbourne guernsey so i could wear my top tonight at training and show that at least there's some supporters with a bit of passion for the club. anyway out of about 60 fellas 8 turned up in dees tops, all the guys had the same thoughts as me.

then guess who at about 6.30 walked across? none other than Chirs Connollly, he knew one of our coaches and made the comment that so many boys were wearing melbourne tops, the man who he was talking too remarked how we were all wearing them cause we were proud of the club. chris waited 5 minutes till the drill stopped and dragged the 8 of us over and said how great it was that we took this upon ourselves and that he would be telling the boys tommorrow.

anyway thought it was great he did this as he is obviously a very passionate man as were all of us boys. i think maybe its just little things like this which will restore this club. left me really happy today that this event happened

I thought the same, I took one from Brissie, two irish and two south africans and they are all now hawk fans ffs.

I'm moving over to the UK in May so have brought a full membership and will be going to all games I can before I head off but can you give me some details on volunteering around the club. I mean what can the ave fan do to help out besides the usual turning up, membership and the like?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
