Don't bring up an almost ten year old thread or anything...

How long has it taken you to read every post from the past 9 years?

I got the part about Morton correct.

we really did a number on that draft.

almost like we picked poor players on purpose

What could have been.....

To be fair, they were impressive in juniors, and he was right about them being more x-factor picks rather than safer meat & potatoes players.
Not a great draft altogether imo.

Hell, Sydey's Kinnear Beatson has been lauded as a recruiter for years, but still picked Veszpremi.
He didn't lack talent, just the work ethic to make it work. Likewise Maric.
Both had faults, but also enough talent to be recycled by other clubs.

Drafting is largely a game of chance.

There's been a few phantom drafts over the years where it looks like we may have just got unlucky on the draft night. This phantom draft would have been a great result and from memory most phantom drafts had us taking Dyson Heppell or Tom Lynch in 2010 instead of Lucas Cook.

A draft with arguably the games best mid, small forward and key defender at the moment probably is a decent one.

Oh my GOD!

that is depressing

No its far worse.

Bloody depressing, but there's been a bit of beautiful redemption in the drafting since 2012.

Not even close to best defender, but even if I give you that, it's 3 out of how many?

Funny way to evaluate a draft.

Edit: thought you were talking about Harry Taylor; Rance of course.
Still, I don't think it was the best draft. Any draft where Cale Morton and Jarrad Grant go in the top 5, can't be too special.

Best thread bump I've seen.

Just awesome reading.

ProDee's "liking" of Hannabal's post is quality. Just wanted to make sure you realized someone had noticed H!
