Look, of course I hope it's a 2 year deal, and as I said all along, that is all he deserves.

But after such a horrible day, I am incredibly thrilled to know that my favourite player is staying a Demon. Watching him play for another team, is as bad as Judd going to Collingwood.

Yes, it's selfish of me, but I would have been devestated had we lost Robbo and not gained Judd. Besides, I still think he has a lot to contribute to the team.

Understood. I think there's something still emotionally significant about players staying at the one club all their career. I have serious doubts about Robbo, but am hopeful Bailey can fix the problems. I also think the determining factor is Judd. Once he ruled us out (or we ruled him out) then Robbo had the green light to re-sign.

Let's hope the rot ends soon about trading Frawley or Petterd - we need them too.

Don't think you will have to worry about losing these two.

Good to see that Robbo has signed. This all points to a very quiet trade period for Melbourne. I imagine that the only player we will consider trading will be Johnstone (and Miller, Jamar etc... but we won't get anything decent for them). Like every year, there is a lot of speculation about who we will trade, but at the end of the day our best 22 will look almost identical to the best 22 this year. Any improvement will come from the development of Bate, Mclean, Jones, Sylvia, Bell, Davey, Dunn, Newton, Pettard and Frawley.

Typical, he announces it at the best and fairest so he can be up on stage and everybody will clap him and slap him on the back and he gets all the attention. He will be loving it. Its funny how now Judd is out of the race we are suddenly dealing with Robbo again. He should be relieved that Judd isn't coming to melbourne because he may have been traded. Robbo just some advice next season stop acting like a sook on the field, chase harder, stop diving and get that bad attiude look off your face that you have been wearing for the past few weeks.

Is it just me ...or is it strangely co-incidental that Robbo re-signs on the day his manager informs us of Judds intent.

There something not right about much of today !! <_<

i really hope we not being played as total fools

good to see the club didnt budge from original offer.. thats a good sign. We may be learning after all.

Good to see Robbo had some sense about him...now get fit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..Halloween isnt that far away ...lol

How can you say that with a straight face Jaded? I don't care that Judd didn't choose us, you can't control that, you just move on, but I'll be absolutely furious if Robbo got anything more than two years. I hope Bailey is good with teaching old dogs, because Robbo certainly needs to learn some new tricks.

umm.. he was clearly our best forward this year - what is with this robbo bashing??

A 2 year deal with the promise of a 3rd if he reaches certain performance goals. As reported in the age.

I hope the performance goals include things like assists, creative handballs and general team play.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
