Best news all day. Be nice to hear it from somewhere a little more official, but I'll take it. Why would anybody want to go to a club of ferals, led by the greasiest cretin in football anyway. I doubt Judd will be too disappointed.

If only we were led by a man with great business success and sense that could make us into a million dollar organisation only a few years after it was almost a million in debt. Yeah, he's such a cretin. Don't be jealous. McGuire has turned the Magpies into a hated club but also a popular and incredibly successful one. They are no longer a sporting club, but a brand thanks to him.

Of course West Coast don't want to trade with Collingwood, but if Judd wants to go there, what are they going to do? Let him go for nothing so he ends up at Richmond?

West Coast hate Collingwood, they hate Eddie (who doesn't), and they don't want to trade with Malthouse. I am sure Judd knows that, and yet he is still interested in talking to Collingwood. Will Judd ask them what they can offer West Coast? Of course he will, but at the end of the day, if he wants the Pies, than he Pies he shall get.

Judd has more power than the entire 15 clubs combined.

Judd has said that he still loves the eagles, but just wants to come home to melbourne, perhaps this means what the eagles want will come into some contention when he decides on a club.

I don't know about his business sense being any better than any other club president's, but he certainly has milked his role at Channel 9 for all its worth (in promoting Collingwood).

I wouldn't say I was jealous, because I still hold it over Collingwood that their supporters are 90% vermin, and shouldn't be allowed to breed. It'd certainly be nice to be in the financial position they are in though.

Let's consider a few things here. West Coast is a club that adored Chris Judd. He's said publically how much he will miss certain players, and how often do you hear a parting player say 5-6 players names he will miss when they are leaving a club? It's normal 1 or 2.

Also, he was god in Perth. Literally god. I'm sure he knows how much this has affected the people of Perth, the WC fans and the WC as a club.

Now, let's take into consideration all of this. Is Judd really going to choose a club that has nothing the Eagles need or want in return? While I know the decision is up to Judd, I believe he will liason with the Eagles and determine which club has the necessary players and picks to fulfil a trade that would make-up for their loss of Judd. I've thought about this over the last couple of hours and now I can see how Carlton may actually be a better suitor than Collingwood.

Let's face it, WC are going to want either 2 top 10 picks, 1 top 10 pick and a high-calibre player or a top 10, top 20 and perhaps 2 young up-and-comers. Either way, they are going to want a top 10 draft pick out of this.

I don't think he is going to pick Collingwood based on what they can offer in the draft. I also don't think he will choose them and hope they can trade up in the draft. To be honest, Collingwood look to lose more than any other club if they want to obtain Judd. If he does choose them, he is practically screwing over the Eagles because I can't see the pies trading two-three high calibre players such as Didak, Davis and Cloke or Peddlebree straight up which is what the Eagles will want if the Pies can't get their hands on a top 10.

However you move all the pieces, it's highly unlikely that he will go to Collingwood, no bias there, just plain logic. It won't happen.

I'd hate to see him go to Carlton just as much though. And Essendon for that matter.

I wouldn't mind if he goes to Carlton because let's be honest, they won't be much for the next few years even with him. And they'll also look to lose probably Fevola. Essendon are in the same ocean but not the same boat; they've recruited terribly the last few years but aren't all that bad. They're just average.

We, on the hand...

Thats exactly it, he has also said he wants to win a premiership in the future, he is an intelligent man and knows if he goes to essendon he will cripple there future (no pick 6 ryder and/or Gumpleton), and everyone know carlton arent going to be up there for another 2-3 years. This leaves one team Melbourne....... i hope

I can understand the hysteria surrounding Judd but for God's sake, will people take off the red & blue tinted glasses for one second here?

You talk about clubs like Essendon and Carlton being a million miles away from a flag and then say that leaves us as the front runners. Do you even think before you write that kind of stuff? We're in exactly the same boat as Carlton and Essendon. We don't have a rosy future either, its rebuild now for us, so what good would having a superstar midfielder do us? Judd's the kind of player that a team gets to put the final missing piece of the jigsaw into place to have a tilt at the flag. Melbourne based clubs in this position to my eyes would appear to be a) Collingwood, B ) Hawthorn c) Kangas d) Saints e) Essendon.

In my eyes Carlton and us are barely in the game. Our claim to Judd is tenuous at best. I reckon the big winners out of this deal are going to be West Coast.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
