on bigfooty they reckon one of em heard mark robinson on SEN saying he recieved a contact from perth saying its down to two clubs??!! wtf? since when has judd made the decision?? il lose respect for chris judd if he walsk to collingwood!!

It's all rubbish - so much [censored] will be thrown around in the coming weeks that we need to ignore it all UNLESS Judd himself comes out with it.

Until then nothing is settled or decided IMO.

Speculation... like they were claiming they knew who the shortlist for the Melbourne coaching positions were... It's amusing that these guys have both radio and newspaper gigs... so they can be wrong twice as often.

I find this comment in the article interesting:

'His current contract with West Coast expires at the end of 2007, and he said as early as two years ago he thought it “unlikely” that he would re-sign with the Eagles.'

I could be wrong, but to me it also has the underlying tone that he also knows exactly where he wants to play, and has been thinking about it for a while.

At the MCG with the Demons.

Let's hope!

Of course if Chris Judd does come to Melbourne FC then he must play at least 7 games with Sandy to get match fit!!!

Then I woke up....great dream....anda polished helmet and all!

Juddys been thinking about this move since the start of the year imo, he has also said that he wants to go to the club that he feels has a chance to be sucessful in the future. Bails has to show him with our crop of upcomiing youngsters that the future at melbourne is bright, that coinciding with the fact he used to barrack for us may just be enough.

I have been dreaming of Judd playing for us for the last 4 years! Now it may finally happen.....

But....

I have a conspiracy theory!

Here goes....

The deal for Judd has been done for awhile now....

Carlton copped it hard in the media for tanking in order to get picks 1 & 3....

There was a great reason for doing this!

Carlton have been secretly dealing with WCE, who in-turn have been secretly dealing with Judd....

Carlton will trade either Andrew Walker or Kade Simpson....

Plus Pick 3....

In return, Judd will be their Captain in 2008....

West Coast have just been cheeky by playing him when he is not 100% so he has a chance of starting pre-season a bit late....

God I hope I am wrong!!

I am happy to say KrazyJay, that you are completely wrong

:)

Judd has never spoken to Carlton, and they are the last club he would go to

Many seem fast and loose with "inside' knowledge..or the good mail...

Im going to suggest that for the most part no one KNOWS JACK !!! unless you are inside the mind ( John Malkovich style ) of Chris Judd or a fly on the wall of his manager.

What we say is by the by mostly speculation and extrapolation.. So can I ask that if anyone has any REAL knowledge..or purports to have it...that they back it up !!! otherwise its all sh!t !!!!

just heard off my mate...its devastating if its true...he's working at the age, internship and they reckon its out of two clubs - us and carlton- thats not the devastating part

the devastating part is that the proposed trade is davey and our number 4 pick, or jones and our number 4 pick :(

Can't trade Jones, he signed a new contract just a few days ago (thankfully!!).

Davey + pick 4 = MASSIVE WIN FOR THE MFC

Hence why it would never happen

I hope we're one of the front runners, but it's a dream to think that we'll only have to give up Davey and one pick to get Judd.

Again, Judd has to categorically say that it's Melbourne, or he's walking for nothing... otherwise, we can't screw West Coast this much!

I will not even contemplate the thought of Judd ever wearing a Melbourne jumper, not until he has signed and I see him at pre-season training.

logically it would be out of two clubs :) has to be a club with early pick and some cattle .. Only two fit the bill

which ever club gets Judd will probably get a good deal out of it.. WCE all but has to accept anything halfway reasonable as a trade..or forfeit it all.

edit

But Judd will be making the call.. and only him.

the guys on AW are saying Collingwood first choice then Carlton then us, drayne pussell said he won't go to us because we aren't a bigger enough franchise

Again this is just opinions. Chris Judd doesn't need to go to a 'franchise'. He is the 'franchise'. Teams will want or need Chris Judd not vice versa. we all play football funnily enough.

At Collingwood he would be fourth fiddle to figjam, Eddie and that attention seeker in the gold jacket.

At Carltank he would be the only fiddle.

At Melbourne he would be the prmier for a perennially underperforming team in desperate need of direction and purpose.

As a supporter of Bolton Wanderers in the EPL we have a saying that we never believe a player is at the club until 3 things have been fufilled

pretty close to saying it all really !! well in the context of all this anyhows !! :)

and the context is what the game /media/ et al is making him to be. ( beyond his actual talent ) His stocks are super-valued precisely because as alluded to above, he IS the franchise.

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo
