Yze was dropped wasn't he? How can you classify someone who was battling to get a game as a key injury?

I admit alot of kids have played for the pies and its goo that they did so well, this will be it for the year but they did surpass expectation.

Yze was dropped, came back found some form, got hurt again and decided on season ending surgery.

Not aloud to bag Jones. Thats not on.

His hospital punt is one of the few players in the league who still kicks long, which I love.

they won, we lost. theyre in finals, we aren't. end of the day they are better. they won 3 out of 4 interstate games. played us twice (we were touted as top 4 this year) ie the fixture comes out well before the season starts, who's to say which teams will be easy beats. stop bitching and accept the facts, move on to next year.

Actually I am going to put my bias aside and agree with Old Xaverian that the Pies have done well with a very young team

I think that Collingwoods average age in their starting 22 would be lower than ours

However, our young brigade are clearly superior

tend to agree with you, however there's still reason to hate them - firstly the feral scums booo a 300 gamer for no apparent reason other than they are a pack of complete imbociles who don't have the mental capacity to grasp a significant occasion. The bitching and whining throughout the match almost made me want to hurl myself from the third level of the southern stand and lastly outside the ground at the city end, there was this pack of around 20-30 approx of them, with joffa in the middle, in his sparkling gold jacket unleashing this massive chant. It all seemed a bit mob mentality/lord of the flies like, if a stray Demon had wandered past I fear they might have been set upon and it was a way over the top celebration considering the nature of the game.

Wow The old Xavierian is back.

Funny we haven't heard from him since he shot his mouth off before last years QB clash....

yes they are absolutely feral, no doubt. It seemed as though the cheer squad gets together after a win and belt out some chants, celebrate the win. not a bad idea must admit

I think they booed Neitz for his lack of sportsmanlike behaviour toward Maxwell. If someone goes out of their way to shake your hand, you don't knock them back regardless of your pregame ritual.

OK look, i didn't mean for it to get out of hand like this, i probably shouldn't have posted this as i was probably a bit emotional from Neita's 300th.

Pies have done well to get into the finals this year, Sam Newman made the point a few weeks back, when you guys were winning that the pies were playing above themselves, i pretty much always expected them to fall down at this time of the year (something a pies mate of mine refused to believe).

You've got a good young list, but i can't see you improving much on this year, you may go up another place on the ladder but i think you'll pretty much stay smack bang where you are now.

A question to you Old Xaverian, and this is a serious question, not one intended to [censored] you off or antagonise: Does it frustrate you to see your team not really figure on the contenders map come finals? Because i remember when we bowed out of the finals two years in a row in the first week, it [censored] the hell out of me, and going on the recent performances to cellar dwellers do you think it's a good chance it'll happen again?

That was the main point of my post, which was more of a bagging of collingwood i know, that although it's been a great effort to make it this far, i foresee a royal arse wooping from a real finals player. And because i'm a Melbourne supporter, and thus hate everything to do with Collingwood, i will take that one smile since my own team won't be able to deliver it to me personally.

I'm sorry if i [censored] you off, i'd probably feel the same if i saw a similar comment about Melbourne of another supporter's website.

Did you notice how every smart football brain of people who have played. Legends all think what Neitz did was ok?

Jonathon Brown on the radio totally gets why he didn't shake his hand and says it bugs him when players do it. After the game is fair game, the start is a battle.

I personally know I HATE players who try to shake before the game. However the one time I actually did shake the blokes hand from the countless times they tried I was best on...... Not because of good sportsmanship but because I was so [censored] off that this lil girl wanted to shake my hand and wish his direct opponent luck that I smashed him all day and constantly started him.

Nothing worse than shaking hands before the game.

I think if you look at the replay also you will see Neitz went straight to Maxwell and shook his hand and spoke with him. AFTER the game, where that stuff belongs.

I seriously doubt many even saw that incident and Neitz is well within his right not to shake hands - the man was pumped, massive game for him, no need for nicities. Hand shakes are for after the match.

Fact is youre not much good, couldn't finish a side with no bench for the second half. Will finish eighth at best and go out in the first week

Get real. 95% of the people at the ground wouldn't have even been aware of that. Perhaps you offering your assessment after watching it on TV? They were booing initially IMO because of a free given to Neitz. Personally I didn't take offence. Only recognised champions get booed.

Not really.

We have a list that is going to improve in the next few YR's, not really far off challenging, a ruckman and a class midfielder. Our recruiting is geared towards sustainable success, last YR we acquired 2 top 10 picks and these players have barely played this YR.

More than likely we'll go out but that comes with playing a youngish side.

It's poor sportsmanslike behaviour regardless.

A player may not openely like to shake hands, fine. If your opponent chooses to, he is giving you respect, it's poor form to refuse his hand.

Routines are routines but a player celebrating a huge milestone has to accept that his opponents will make more of the game than a "normal" game.

Plently of people saw it also.

Sportsmanslike? LMAO. Daddy obviously didn't pay enough for your education.

You're the last one to talk about what is sportsmanlike after shooting you mouth off 15 months ago and not reappearing to now.

As I said earlier, as weak and soft as that turd Johnson.

Maxwell knew that most players don't shake hands before the bounce. It was mischievous trying to do so and Maxwell knew it. A calculated bit of gamesmanship that many are sucked in by.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
