MOTY & GOTY NOMINATIONS 2026

Featured Replies

We have a nomination in each category for round one:

VOTE FOR TRELLY GOTY

VOTE FOR CULLS MOTY

How good was our round one match!

Now let’s reward our noms by voting for them. It will only take five minutes of your time and if we all do it, it’ll help to get these two young guns over the line.

GET VOTING, Y’ALL!!!

Vote for our excitement machine for Goal Of The Year.

Vote for WCE’s stupidest delisting for Mark Of The Year.

Please

Have y’all voted yet?

If not, why not? What’s stopping you?

Voting closes on Thursday morning. Please vote!

The Jai mark is great, but I think the Mabior one will win. The flyin’ Ryan mark wasn’t even a mark (IMVFHO).

The Trelly goal is worthy of the win. How cool it would be for him to win in his first match!

VOTE NOW!!!

Pickett's reminds me a bit of Jeff Farmer's 1998 winner crossed with Franklin's 2010. If he's half as spectacular as those two, we're in for a wild and exciting ride.

Chol for mine, don’t think Ryan actually marked it but it’s certainly a hangar.

Trelly for the raw emotion of it but Wood’s just pips Crisp’s as an actual ripper goal.

Trelly should easily win. the other 2 were lucky snaps

How many people are nominated for mark of the year playing against us? Seems an annoying high amount

Trelly for the goal, but I can't see Ryan not getting the popular vote for his "mark".

a fair amount but you’re willing to concede one MOTY attempt every now and again when usually gawny marks every other high ball

I'll spew if Ryan gets the win for a 'mark' he dropped.

Ryan's leap was so good he'll win. He didn't actually mark it but it's always fun to have a bit of controversy in these things.

I would love to see Pickett's goal win it all this year. Not the best goal I've ever seen but certainly one of the most entertaining. He didn't know where he was going at the end he was just taking bounces for fun lol.

Voted for both our boys GW, Ryan got high but didn’t bring it down so shouldn’t count. 😁

Yes we all reckon Ryan dropped it, but it was paid.

Saints have Flying Ryan, we have Jumping Jai!

And so it came to pass. Congratulations Mr. Pickett and Mr. Ryan.

For what it's worth, I thought Ryan had spilled the mark at the time, but in retrospect he did clearly control the mark until the point he hit the ground.

Was a great mark, which in a sence showed great courage, but I actually think it also shows a level of contempt for you own well-being when you repeatedly jump for marks without caring hoe you land like that. He had a sore shoulder after that effort, but could just have easily concussed himself or done serious neck injury. Shaun Smith use to do it all the time and I got my sister a great photo form the age, which I got developed into an A1 poster size of him landing pretty much on his head following a similar mark.

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.

Never in doubt!!! In Steven King’s first game at the helm of the Melbourne Football Club, the Dees outlasted Saints in a wild, momentum-swinging thriller at the MCG, running out 13-point winners.
