Went early as I had to leave early. When I arrived at 9:10 players were already out, some doing a beep test. Berry struggling.

3 players I didnt see - Bowey, Laurie and Campbell - though Campbell turned up late. And so did Ghosty for that matter.

Miohcek has had a hair cut.

McAdam and Henderson on the bikes and in rehab kit. Everyone else in full training kit.

Rehab, and by this I mean they occassionally dropped out to do specialist drills - Miohcek, Viney, Gawn (finger) Sharpie (hammy)

Onleys nickname is Ron

Chin and Rick in good voice.

Tom Mathews still looks small.

Kossi and Salo had a good stretch with the trainer before starting. AJ had some magic ointment on the back.

I dont think anyone would be surprised that we are practising fast, continuous, ball movement.

Left early.

Seems 9am is the new 10am.

Do you happen to know if DNA is still running?

I know Choco ran before he left for the new players and was wondering if the program is still going.

TIA

Yep thought he was running around the boundary well!

He ran past me along the Yarra at light speed!

Wow… Sharp wasn’t moving like a guy that will be out for another 2 months+ 🤷‍♂️

He sped past me earlier along the Yarra!

I'm not sure really sure what you mean by cycle considering a it's the first actual state vs state game in the 21st century (first in 27years), hardly a cycle. I think it's a great idea to get rep footy back with the best players in the league playing. Just about every other team from has a form of top level representative (ie. Playing for your country or state).

Plus it's less than handfull of players from each club, I'm sure the game plan and all that will be fine.

Me and my mates are keen for it, and I've got mates from WA that are keen for it and are going. A few of us are getting together to watch it. Obviously we don't know how it will go, but it's not a waste of time for us - but that's okay you don't have to watch it :)

It's a cycle, a long cycle I will admit, didn't realise it was that long ago for the last one.....great interest, less interest, little to no interest...then some interest, building interest in the media, players start to think they want it, HO thinks they can make some bucks (forget what happened last time), then interest wanes etc...

...this game is not developed for State of Origin.

The prize is the Premiership, it always will be.

The novelty wears off as soon as there is a serious injury, it happened before and will happen again.

The lessons of history are hard learned and more often they're not learned at all.

Get back to me in a few years and lets see how it's going then.

Spot on rjay. The AFL will humour the ones who think it is a good idea for a couple if years and then drop it

There is obviously not much to amuse us fanatics when we are worrying about the level of Sharps fitness. He is not a top 25 player. But I guess we need players for the Casey side.

i think having it every few years will essentially keep it from going out of fashion. Or at least rotate the teams involved so Vic only plays every 2-3 years or so. It'll keep it fresh.

If there is no Vic. Team involved it will die quickly. Does any Victorian have any interest in who wins out of a SA vs WA clash. Without keen Vic people it's ratings will be terrible.

So who plays next year?

What's McAdam's issue now? His injury was 11 months ago - shouldn't he be doing something more substantial than light running by now?

No.

Will be a massive bust unfortunately!

You have my vote pf. I don't think he has the body need at the top level. He had injury problems at the crows.

Maybe, but one serious injury will finish it.

Or suspension. It will be an exhibition match.

How did Ghosty go on the beep test? Did her darts slow her down?

Nar she was fine , she was hooked up to a heart lung machine and pumped full of eu de parfume, passed with FLYING COLORS!😇🤩😎

Great question. I was wondering the same thing. Loved the whole concept of the program specifically designed for first to fourth year players (I think it was).

Special thanks to Ghostwriter, Redlegs23, Demongirl35, Trident22, ww, Kev. That was a comprehensive set of track reports with a total of 14 individual contributors and a great turnout of supporters at Gosh’s today, plus all posters and special comments really appreciate the effort and new contributors.

btw XLs nickname, X, is pronounced eck.

and I reckon that Sharpie can run quicker with a hammy than I have ever run.

How's Jeffo coming along in training? Optimistic he is improving?

Jeffo

Hands are good, he is moving well, struggles a bit when closely checked, has a beautiful set shot which has developed into a very smooth gait, and with great intention.

The delivery into him is improving, which makes his job of getting the ball easier.

OR ... maybe her beep test was how many F bombs she could drop during the session. Maybe she gave Gordon Ramsey and Brian Blessed a run for their money.

Optimistic that he is ready to FIRE!

The same problem he has had his entire career, cant get on the park often and when he does he is back injured weeks later.

Will be... is.

One of the worst trades we have ever done.

I guess the bright side is barring a minor miracle with his injury woes we will free up a list spot and cap space come season end.

Looking at the Demonland contract thread we have a few players coming out of contract at season end and we may want to extend some players due out in 2027 early.

I check out the contract thread often - invaluable.

He IS a bust

Just what is.

Not a slight on the lad just an adjudication as to relevance to us going forward.

NONE

and we move on

Any info re: Miochek. Have we drafted an injury prone lemon? People suggested on the Monday thread that he had been doing heaps of training pre Xmas. However, I was at sessions before the break and he was restricted then to cross training. What is the issue?

Dislocated toe youch!!!!!

Have never seen Tom Matthews touch the footy live, but there is something about this small footballer that reminds me of Nick Watson.

I just have this feeling we have another good footballer in the pipeline.

I don’t know. But we both know I’ll find out 😁
