Not sure why he would be going to hospital tonight for scans? Ussually if itโ€™s an ACL itโ€™s done sometime over the weekend.

Derkson more of a defender I believe.

But if Kentfueld is indeed out, KPF stocks looking very thin.

Yeah he is but he can be versatile and play forward also I believe.

Yep unfortunately the last few weeks our KPF stocks have taken hit , least Miochek should be back for round 1

Petty or Turner May need to go forward at some stage ( I would prefer they be settled in defence though )

Geez it looked like a simple medial ligament injury when watching. Not your usual ACL mechanism but was pretty awkward - really hope not! Such a shame, he has been looking ready to step up

Iโ€™m guessing because the SSP period ends Monday, so if he is out for the season we could sign a player

Why did he even land that wayโ€ฆ it was so unusual.

I think he was dazed from the hit. Passed the concussion test, but he definitely looked like he lost his balance mid air. I was down that end about 30-40m from the incident and thatโ€™s what it looked like to me.

Will be gutted if this is a long termer. He deserves a crack at it, and offers us something promising.

Fingers crossed for him.

So disappointing for him. Real chance to play Rd1. Now we go with Mihocek, JVR, and Heath surely?

Whereโ€™s Melky in all of this?

Hoping its a minor knee. Scan now rehab starts tomorow.

Last preseason double pneumonia this preseason bloody knee.

Minor please!!!!!!

Looks like you are right. The club need an immediate scan to see the severity of his knee injury.

A grade 1 MCL may be 3 weeks where as a Grade 3 injury is a much longer recovery time.

Let's hope its a 3 weekend.

And this is why I hate preseason matches and State of Origin matches and every other match that isnโ€™t part of the season proper. Yes, I know this couldโ€™ve happened at any stage of any match but it sucks when it happens in a match worth a grand total of zero premiership points.

Iโ€™d be staggered if thatโ€™s an ACL. It will be medial and hopefully no meniscus involved

That would be Kentfield of the Luker variety.

Thumbs and phones.

Is the Richmond player that whacked him going to get weeks or what?

Thought coat hangers went out of the game years ago.

When will we know?

Love Melky but I think we can still avoid having him as a tall atm. Especially coming back from injury.

Certainly didnโ€™t look like an ACL action, was a bit like Sam Darcyโ€™s injury last seasonโ€ฆwhat was that 8-10 weeks

How can u know his ACL is ok without a scan ?????

AFL club doctors can diagnose an acl tear with around 95% accuracy

Low key approach to this news.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • PREGAME: St. Kilda

With just over two weeks until their opening match of the 2026 AFL Premiership season, the Demons are already well on the path to redemption and have the Saints firmly in their sights ahead of their mid-March clash at the MCG. What do you think the team will look like when they run out on to the G?

  • REPORT: Richmond

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.

Kozzy Pickett was the man of the match last week and has a vote lead over backup ruck Max Heath who didn't play this week and 5 votes over former Saint Jack Steele. Who gets the votes in this weeks shortened match win over the Tigers? Your votes please. 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 & 1.

It's Game Day and the 2026 AFL Premiership season is almost upon us as the Demons take to the field for their final practice match before the first ball is kicked in anger in 16 days time. What are you expecting to see from the Dees today as they take on the Tigers at Mars Stadium in Ballarat?
