The four home sides would be favoured? North, Blues, Us and Crows. Weird fixture with two replays from last week and one from the round before.

No banner for the Hawks tonight, unless this qualifies as a banner…

Which it doesn’t.

Do better, Hawthorn CS 🤨

Let's spoil the party ❤️💙

So, the Hawks failed the cheer squad test. North, not much better…

Absolutely no excuse. This is shameful. It’s embarrassing and I feel bad for their players. We make our W team a banner every week and a bloody good one at that. Most weeks they’re the same size as the men’s (depending on pole size at smaller grounds) and every week we put in the same amount of time and effort as we do the men’s.

2 goals at 3/4 time

jebus

OK I'm a defender of this comp, I know they're playing nth, but how an earth have hawthorn not managed to kick a single goal?

This is a team that finished top 4. It's a qualifying final. Not good enough

I think it just highlights how good a team North is.

270 disposals for zero goals

Just horrible

Wasn't able to watch the game - how was the umpiring?

I actually didn’t notice so it must’ve been ok 😁

How good is a finals series without Collingwood or essendon?

Not as good as it could have been.

<cough> Carlton

<cough> Hawthorn

Yep - she's real slow. We'll exploit that when we make the Big Dance...

Is this comp dead?

Not North but the opposing top 4 team with only a few points.

Perfect night for football etc

Life support is close I hope

Last quarter gave Nth's score a nice bump but it masked some fundamental failings

Edited by Diamond_Jim

@Diamond_Jim A competition that expanded way too quickly. Should be 10-12 teams max.

An argument could be made that the talent is spread too thin in the AFL as well

Didn't see the game, just the final score. Is it simply a case of the Roos' being way ahead, as just the flow of the game.

Gee it's going to be a good old fashioned wet weather footy today between Carlton and West coast. But I reckon they still outscore hawthorn.

I'm not sure daisy is getting the credit for what she has done getting this team playing finals & turning there culture around.

It's a horrible game to watch, but it's footy and the Eagles are at least hanging in there. It would be great to see them roll the blues.

Cmon Daisy! Stick it to the Blues

I reckon they'll get up

What ever the rules are around holding the ball, incorrect disposal have become a hot mess.

It’s funny because what it has created is this soccer match the blues are playing.

Better for no one to tackle or take possession of the ball.

Game over with Blues scoring 4 goals to nil this quarter

Edit... make that 6

Blues could give Hawks a run for their money and we might play them in a PF

Yeah, real blow out. Shame, was enjoying rooting for Daisy's underdogs! At least they have her, so surely can only keep improving from here.

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
