Their first pick isnt until pick 38 which will obviously blow out to the mid 40's

Just using this post as an example: I reckon picks around ND40 will come in a long way this year because the many top rated academy and F/S players will use up lots of picks in the 25 to 40 range.

Specifically on Oliver to the Pies they will probably want to do a trade for Mihocek!!!! I put nothing past them!

But I hope he goes to GWS as imv he doesn't need the scrutiny that comes with the pies and those fans turning on him if it doesn't go well early on. Also, at GWS I can barrack for him as I do Jesse!

Miochek is a FA...why would we teade for him?

Tbh... I think most of this Filth thing is predominantly media driven. Someone is taking something incidental and blowing it up.

Great Lead for Monday morning.

The fun and games begin soon.

Clazz playing for Trac's dream club while Petracca plays for the Suns would be very very funny

To preserve the Charlie FA compensation pick.

Isn't Clarry now O/S ?? Not back til after trade is finished ?

Would he consider anything without a genuine tete-a-tete with a club ?

Again, might be wrong.... seems more fanciful than real

So we would trade Clayton Oliver for Miochek so we retain pick 39 as compensation for Spargo...what is the benefit of that?

Exactly...its a nonsense

We would trade a 3rd or 4th rounder for Miochek, to retain a 2nd rounder received in compensation for SparGod

Nothing to do with Clarry

Oliver doing the "dirty work" for Daicos and Co makes some sense for them though.
But hardly replacing the steady heads of Pendles/Sidebottom long-term

Very little benefit.

Realistically, no matter what we do we won't get much for Oliver.

Grundy was traded to us for a second round pick (iirc high 20's) and they paid $600k for 4-5 years and Grundy didn't have the baggage Oliver has. We on traded Grundy to Sydney for a similar pick with Pies paying the $600k pa

That is the benchmark for Oliver and as unpalatable as it is, fans need to get used to mfc not getting much of a return.

It would actually be genius by Collingwood. Clarry has lightning hands and sees ball gets ball. Nick Daicos is just a receiver but the best in the league at it. They would make an amazing one two combo with Clarry just nailing that soft [censored] by hand all day

It makes me sick thinking about it

In what world do we allow Clayton Oliver to play for Collingwood? Can you imagine our next loss to them with Clayton hugging and high fiving Maynard and co.

Just let that sink in, like really sink in, go on breathe it right in. Surely you’ve got enough pain down there without adding that to it!

If u have intel relative to 2025 I'm all ears

I do as early as 12 weeks ago but that’s not for a public forum. I know it sounds like a cop out.

Hopefully we get something decent enough for him

The only scenario in which Clarry goes to Collingwood for something like pick 38 is if they are willing to take on the financial commitment of his full contract.

$700k discount or not, pick 38 is unders.

What a sick joke we give him the flick and he ends up at the filth☠️

He won't be leaving Melbourne if we are only offered pick 38 or thereabouts. Hopefully we are not that STUPID.

Clarrys management are ringing clubs now offering up his services. He’s 100% gornnnee

Imagine being the 14th best side in the competition and paying $500K plus for a 4 x B&F winner to play for a top 4 side. You can't make up the incompetence of this club.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • REPORT: Richmond

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.
