Bailey Humphrey

The Humphrey camp is clearly very frustrated with the Suns.

If the manager is portraying unhappiness as a professional then you can imagine how much BH wants out.

Some dot points I took from interview

Doesn’t sound 100% confident by the way.

Has a very close bond with his family, his a pillar in his family. Bailey contains strong ties with the Gippsland region.

Found Craig’s comments a bit head scratching from last week.

Manager aware of meetings. A lot more in formal then what has been speculated and reported recently.

heard from most Victorian clubs about interest in Bailey. Clubs are checking in on a semi regular basis.

Speaks with Bailey on daily basis.

GC weren’t aware that he was meeting with other clubs whilst in Victoria.

Strong ties won’t change in Gippsland more wether he further adapts to GC

Stop putting me through this emotional roller coaster.

If GC rolled out BHs manager to put this to bed, they are perhaps more nervous now. Perhaps the intro piece was given on behalf of the manager by GC

Bailey blink twice if you are being held against your will.

Clearly we need Donald Trump to sort this out

This interview has put it back on the table more so than off it

I hope the MFC are clear that releasing star players from contracts for unders makes the teams we are supposedly competing for a final 8 spot much stronger - presumably that's because we feel more comfortable with being a cellar dweller

Heavy hints at requesting a trade again next year.

Why go on Trade Radio at all? He was never going on to shut it down. There's no need for that. GCS and MFC just do the deal with Trac for picks.

Very odd.

Yep if we have any resemblance of testicles left over we would now say it’s Bailey or nothing we keep petracca and walk away

Sounds like a manager conceding defeat for now, but making it clear that this will be on the agenda again in 12 months time, where Humphrey gets to the Hawks

It’s time Demons!

Jarryd Roughead needs to go to advanced hair!

Oakes had the opportunity to completely shut this down. He did not.

Sounds as though it is going to be very difficult to get over the line but the door stays ever so slightly ajar.

I took as a last chance of saying let this kid go. We wanted them to go public. That’s what they’ve done!

The Hosts already confirmed that Bailey Humphrey won't be a part of any trade this year and the manager was coming on to speak about what is next.

I'm with Danny on this one, i think he's just told them that this is coming up again in 12 months, confirmed BH's desire to get out publicly and given the Suns something to think about. It's still incredibly unlikely but this was a last roll of the dice for 2025.

Tell me about it. I was expecting an unequivocal shutdown.

Did not give enough compelling reasons

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?
