Maybe there is no public knowledge of this because all parties have agreed to keep it quiet out of respect for the personal situation that Bailey is dealing with?

There has been enough media discussion about Humphrey meeting with / speaking to a number of clubs, and if you didn't take the hint from his Instagram post the other day that he wants to come home, you're not spending enough time on social media

At the end of the day we said we are interested, and GC said they are not

Anything that happens beyond that you can speculate on or not, but the photo evidence that he's met with our coach says to me that he's at the very least taken a meeting. If he didn't want to progress any further with us (or another club), it would be a very simple "I am happy at the GC" type of statement from him or his manager.

We are now a week into the trade period, and all we have gotten out of the Humphrey camp is a post about 'coming home' and radio silence about his desire to stay at the Suns

Saying nothing sometimes is saying a lot

Especially through all the shisha smoke

I'll confess to not watching a hell of a lot of suns games in the last few years.

Humphrey seems to be a player, but can someone who is a fan give me a summary of why we should trade him in.

Because he’s a 21 year old version of Petracca

Plus the heat radiating off the freshly printed potential contract should the trade go through 😇

Kicking 3 goals in a quarter of an elimination final and being influential in giving your side a 4 goal half time lead in hostile territory is probably a good starting point.

Just to confirm that's 3 goals in a quarter. Not 3 goals in the overall game.

If the clubs pulls this off, the smoke may change in flavour and smell …

Deal or no deal, that's the standard Friday knock-off routine 😎

Really this isn't a bad way of putting it.

Dynamic, powerful, can play mid and forward.

Still raw but has a natural match winning ability.

Has mostly played forward in his career so far but is destined to end up as a game breaking midfielder. Knows where the sticks are and is very handy in the air as well.

Very similar player to what Petracca was circa 2016-17.

Where is the evidence? I love the intel from you and Demon Forever but the vultures in the media just are not circling and we know that they thrive on these things. If randoms truly have intel (not doubting you don't as you've been great in the past) are posting about these meetings on a forum why aren't the media getting wind of this. It just doesn't add up. I so want this to be true but the Morris and Edmunds and McClures of this world would be splashing whispers of these meetings all over their feeds if there was even a hint that they were going on and we've heard nothing.

Fair points, but when I said the dees were meeting Bailey before it actually happened, the media had no sight of that meeting also!

Unless they are parked outside the house of a certain person, they will not get wind of this one

Im also NOT saying we have got him but he definitely has interest in us. Ultimately its GC decision whether they allow it. MFC are seeing this as the last throw at the stumps before moving on. We have been persistent however which is a breathe of fresh air as far as Im concerned. we have 2 of the 3 parties interested (Dees and Bailey) just need GC to join in on the party. Im trying to find out about the personal reasons he wants to come home.

I am also led to believe that GC are across this meeting

But what about the Mole 😱

I will say upfront that i hardly watch Suns games and hardly notice him that much - other than brief few weeks he was in my SuperCoach side (before i traded him out). There is just something about him that reminds me of Dean Kent.

Almost gone. A lot less stuff coming out of the club now which is evidence the mole is being extinguished

Appreciate the intel again

Is the expectation from our side that Humphrey publicly requesting a trade will allow us to get the deal done?

Definitely agree but I think this one is a Max Level event. We should be at DEFCON MAX at the moment.

Not necessarily, MFC want Bailey to raise the request to trade via his manager. Its all about not hurting the GC brand

Apologies I should have been more specific, I more so meant him formally requesting a trade (rather than just mentioning his openness to going home)

Thanks though

Get the 'ell out and you're left with Moe. Make of that what you will.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
