Reportedly won’t be offered another contract with a Collingwood. Could be a viable back up for Max?

Yea Na. Besides his age I couldn't bring myself to seeing him in red and blue. It would be like seeing Tracc in black and white.

I don't have time to read through every post.
Is the general vibe positive..?

Oh yeah. We're all positive that we don't want him anywhere near our club.

Sees thread. Please don’t be a poster suggesting we recruit him, please don’t be a poster suggesting we recruit him. Opens thread.

Surely his visa gets canceled

Why is this a thread?

A bit of hilarity needed, as yesterday’s hilarity has worn off. Nearly. Still having schadenfreude at Bailey Sniff’s expense.

Perhaps he could lead our swimming team?

…(do we have one?)

I thought this was going to be a thread to laugh about him being delisted.

Is he an Australian citizen these days or does he have to go home now to the fourth reich?

He is an Australian citizen so can stay. I’m also not sure of his politics—the 4th Reich may appeal to him as a Texan. After all, they’ve elected some of the worst of our politicians—

I know lots of people aren’t huge fans of us Americans, and in all honesty, lots of his carrying on represents exactly why. I’m so glad to be out of that cesspool, if I had to hear chants of “USA! USA!’ At the footy, it would be the last time I turned up. So, my vote if it counted is a big, absolutely not.

Perhaps he could lead our hot dog eating competition, he plays like a bratwurst so he might find his spot

Despite appearances, he’s an anti Trump Democrat. Just one side of the same coin.

Seven disposals, 2 marks, 10 hitouts and 1 clearance a game at just 34 years and 6 months.

He's like the reverse Luke Jackson. We should take him if someone offers us two first rounders to do so.

Would need a lot more than that.

I reckon our membership numbers would plummet precipitously

Hard yes.

The no camp need to think a lot harder.

Please explain what does a 34 year old mediocre one dimensional ruckman bring to a team who already has Campbell and that other old guy who plays ruck and is kinda good at it. Won like 8 AA jackets and stuff. You might know him.

And for the love of god don’t tell me we can make him a key position forward. The man had a total of 3 goals and 4 marks inside 50 this year. And just to prove I’m not a total hater, he took a whopping 14 marks inside 50 last year for a grand total of 6 goals.

I would rather burn my eyes with acid than watch Cox in a Melbourne jumper.

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Saturday Night’s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourne’s memorable premiership triumph.

The compromised AFL fixture will get another test this week with the first lot of teams getting a bye after only two matches. • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
