NON-MFC: Finals Week 01

Featured Replies

GWS dominating but havenโ€™t taken advantage then Hawthorn take two opportunities. Please donโ€™t screw this up GWS

Whatโ€™s this. A final at Engie Stadium?

So whatโ€™s wrong with GMHBA Stadium for a final?

Geelong have 2 massive systemic advantages already (their home ground advantage, and the lifestyle sell). If we let them also play finals at GMHBA theyโ€™ll win the flag every second year for the next century.

I'm sorry I know people don't like hawthorn on here but I reckon they're exciting & would be good to see them going

Hawks 2 goals from frees in first 10mins. Both from soft frees.

Make that 3

The blokes in commentary are wimps. Last night double frees to Rayner was the worst thing theyโ€™ve ever seen but apparently that one was fine

Meek jumper punched Briggs in the chin and nothing. Surely thatโ€™s a high freeโ€ฆwas right in front of the stooge too.

Apparently thereโ€™s a breeze Hawksโ€™ way.

Itโ€™s classic Fox. Way more Hawks fans watching, so they are calling for them.

Their bias is wild, and once you see it it makes the games unwatchable.

They want to be on the good side of whichever team has the bigger following.

Umpires best on ground again

itโ€™s all about them in finals

Noticed this happening quite a bit this season, more so than other years.

One more goal from free away from turning this off. Umps 100% ruining this game.

plus 2 very soft 50m penalties that changed the course of the match

Wash your mouth

Any chance GWS can hit a target inside F50?

And this game is re-emphasising how much I loathe the modern Hawks. Their on field manner gives me Maynard vibes, but from an entire team!

Itโ€™s called being ruthless. Iโ€™d love to have that hard edge.

No, I'm not talking about their ruthlessness, but their taunting, big-mouthing, self indulgence and over celebrating.

Did I just hear Riewoldt use the expression scrimmage? Seriously

See what happens when you kick straight.

Geez wish we had the skills of Hawks, new coach needs to put this as a priority!

Making the most of opportunities.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competitionโ€™s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.

From the outset, the Casey Demons lacked any spring in their steps. They were out-hustled and out-bustled and finally outplayed by the Brisbane Lions by 38 points on their home turf in perfect conditions at Casey Fields.
