You do realise the Bailey is meeting up with clubs this weekend also. In relation to the Saints, sure they are getting rid of a Steele. As we are with Clayton and Trac. Have you asked yourself why we are doing this?

No offence, but you also said that Flanders is coming our way. The Saints telling Steele to look elsewhere suggests otherwise.

The best part (player managers at this time of year don't bluff) are you kidding me?

All whilst Bailey is meeting clubs here in Melbourne over the weekend.

Come on, surely not that blind!

I can categorically tell you that is not the case. His manager is well and truly on the lookout

Ignore the haters mate. Keep passing on the info.

I like Demon Forever's mail and don't agree with the postters he's responding to, but why are they ''haters'' ?

Sounds like Humphrey is keen to get out but doesn't want to go public with anything incase it falls through.

which is the smart move

a lot of clubs - and more importantly, player managers - are taking a lot of 'learnings' from petracca in 2024 and zerrett in 2025

I mean Petracca is out the door, Merrett has blown things up as you mentioned, Curnow too.

If anything the lesson to most players seems to be that you can absolutely burn bridges and swim back across the river if things don't work out.

I suspect once Humphrey has met with clubs he'll decide if this is something he actually wants to pursue.

i don;t know what kind of shape GC's cap is in but perhaps we can offer humphreys more money to entice him across. we should be in a position to do so

Humphrey is contracted through end of 2028 on approx $800k already. We'd need to push well past 1 million to lure him to the dumpster fire, so we'd essentially be swapping Trac's salary for his. Trac for Humphrey isn't a straight swap though, we'd have to give something else up too on top of Trac, so we'd be at a net loss all round. Better off long term though and something we should pursue IMO.

Why aren’t we looking at someone like Cam Mackenzie from hawthorn?

He can’t get a game and when they get Merritt he will certainly never get midfield time.

He would also be cheaper than Flanders should he go elsewhere?

Flanders would be a nice get, but Humphrey is on a another level. If he is even remotely a chance to leave GC then we need to move heaven and earth to get him.

Harvey Langford, Bailey Humphrey, Kozzi Pickett, Trent Rivers, Caleb Windsor, Xavier Lindsey, Koltyn Tholstrup and Jai Culley should be our midfield sorted for a decade with 4-5 of them with potential to be absolute superstars. Most of them are good users of the ball and they are also a very versatile bunch of kids, all of them can play either forward, half back or on the wing when not in the mid rotation.

Even if we take on half of Clarry's contract, but we remove all of Trac's, plus the money we had in line for McVee (probably not heaps but still), and the money we were prepared to give Houston, and we'd easily be able to make him an offer worth WELL more than what he's currently on.

There is no chance we even get in front of him unless we are giving him an offer that sets him up for life. His manager would laugh in our faces if we were like "does Humphrey want to join the circus for $1mil?"

Hats off to you Demon Forever. I was skeptical. But the fact that he is also meeting with 3 other clubs in a concern.

Looks like the Hawks are trying to get in the race now for Humphrey

I think the only way Bailey leaves the Suns is if he is a part on the Trac trade. No other club has anything the Suns want.

Maybe Carlton if Curnow goes there but I reckon JUH will get there over him at this stage
