Lets face it, Snoop is a good choice, will get those around the world to tune it to the performace, maybe not live but footage of it will go around. So putting the game on the world stage, sponsorship etc will geta boost.

I mean, if we wanted to entertain the crowd then we would go with Gutalax, Party cannon or Cannibal Corpse.

If we wanted to have everyone talking about if for years upon years we would have Gorgoroth, Marduk, Wiegedood or similar 😁

Can’t believe the AFL have chosen this despicable individual for the Grand Final at the cost of $5,000,000. Indefensible and a shocking decision.

Not sure what Snoop Dogg has done for you to call him a despicable individual Chook. He has been a puplic figure for a long time and has had relatively little controvery for a Rapper who moved in the circles he did particularly in the 80s and 90s. He is also a family man with kids who has been married for more than 25 years and seems to keep his personal life separate to his public image.

I think he is a great choice for the AFL. It will draw Internation interest to our game while providing a global stage to our local artists.

Wow, used to feel I was getting old, now I know I am. Who the hell is Snoop Dogg?

But then again I never heard of Taylor Swift until she toured in Australia the other year.

He released his first single in 1993!

Maybe Wiodja was old in 1993.

If I was old in 1993 I am most certainly now the ‘living dead’. So sad.

(Still couldn’t name one of his songs now to save my life).

I was at the Grannie that Robbie Williams sang at, it was the highlight of the day. Don’t know any of Snoop’s stuff, but he’d have to be better than Meatloaf.

Especially now!

Drop It Like It's Hot - also unfortunately this year's instructions from our skills coach.

The prescient Patti Page paid tribute to Snoop 18 years before he was even born.

Edited by Demonstone

Is he bringing along Martha Stewart for a duet ??

A new low even for the AFL

Holy cow, how hard is it to showcase local (cheaper) acts

Yep, grandad still talks about how Dick Reynolds almost tripped over Cannibal Corpse coming back onto the ground after half time when he was a kid.

That would have been with Barnes as singer, not Corpsegrinder? So around tomb of the mutilated or eaten back to life records...

Just to highlight the Snoop DoGG impart.

Public radio in NZ (national radio equivalent to the ABC) ran with that on the morning news.

Shows the reach that the DoGG can get in a country that doesn't give a rats @$#% about AFL

Dunno. Grandad went deaf round 1960. We're not sure why.

Boomer: I’m not racist. But. Why can’t we have a white-middle-aged-to-older Aussie act?

That's a bit of a stretch! Some Australians would have listened to Aussie bands for decades (which apart from indigenous artists and some bands like Regurgitator and Temper Trap rarely have non-Anglo-Saxon members) and their idea of foreign cuisine are dim Sims or Hawaiian pizzas. It doesn't mean they necessarily hate other races. I can always understand supporting local industries, including music.

Anyway, while I hate how many stop listening to new music in their 20's and many radio stations seem to have done the equivalent I'm sure plenty of the fuddy duddies would be a lot more tolerant of race than you say

Took me untill 1975 and 10 years of standing too close to large music speakers

At least you've never had to listen to Brian Taylor.

I'd love to see the 'gurge bring someone like Eddie or Tom Morris up on stage and serenade them with I Sucked _____ _____ ____ ___ To Get Where I Am!

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

The Dogs reigned supreme in 2018 with an inaugural AFLW premiership cup and the Demons matched this feat by winning the cup as the Season 7 2022 champions.Meggs wasn’t born when the Doggies won their first VFL premiership cup against the Demons in 1954. Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturday’s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFL’s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
