This game is real Sophie’s Choice stuff. It’s Collingwood I’d enjoy seeing Hawthorn miss finals

Like choosing between [censored] your pants and vomiting

Lose lose.

I liked mihocek casually going over the Mark by impey by 2–3 m. Almost daring the umpire to call the 50 meter penalty.

Jesus, one day a coach will let players actually be allowed to think instead of handballing to players in a worse position. They are so robotic in their actions, they don't even look to see the dangers of it or if there are better options.

3 weeks to Newcomb. Way worse than May.

This is going to be interesting to see what Jeff Gleesons’ “reasonable player” should have done in that clash, especially if the reasonable player is playing for a club in contention and with the finals coming up. Oh sorry I am assuming Newcomb gets cited.

What if it's a draw?

Ha King who wanted May thrown out for six weeks say pure accident. What is the difference. Make a complete fool of himself.

The answer to your question. Absolutely nothing.

To be honest neither player should be reported or suspended……nor should have May.

I picked the Pies until Howe went down, now reckon the Hawks will penetrate the Pies defence too easily. In terms of desire, I hope for a Hawks loss so we can stop hearing about the "Hollywood Hawks".

The spewing versus carping comment from Jaded sums up the night really.

I don’t reckon that can be a suspension to Newcombe. I don’t see how he can handle that differently.

Which means it’ll probably be 5 weeks.

I will be disappointed if we do not make some play for Brody M,

I suspend all players you can from these sides but remember Chtistian has a conflict of interest . Clear to any one else but the AFL

Pies are like us in ‘23. They look done. 1-4 the last 5 weeks is not the form of premiers.

There is talks of disharmony and players wanting to move . I hope they implode.

Can you imagine if May tried to tackle Evans at that speed?

Evans would still be out.

Pies fans cheered Maynard after knocking out Gus and booing Newcombe for knocking out Howe.

Absolute scum

So I missed the good bit. Will they replay it

That’s the beauty of ’should’, ‘could’ and ‘reasonable player’, you can almost arrive at any outcome you want.

You and I could have vastly different interpretations of all 3 of those metrics.

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.
