Maybe we should just get Mark Neeld back

The club leaks seem to be drying up… all of the intel on this club-selection process now seems to be coming from the candidates and not the club + we’ve heard very little on player exit interviews (especially Clarry).

My best guess is incoming CEO and president have had to step in. This is a good sign.

Funny, I thought of this today when Tom Morris had the scoop on Charlie Curnow’s exit meeting, shortly after it had finished.

I’m now firmly convinced that almost all leaks are manager based, who else would be leaking details of that meeting?

Unless the club itself leaked, to shut down any thoughts for rivals.

It also helps when there’s nothing to report

If Clarry asked for a trade you’d hear about it

They should have never extended him before they saw the outcome of the year and are now stuck with his extension

However, we might offer them a bail out

Was reported earlier in the year that we made contact with him and he shut it down out of respect for Goody and then signed a new deal

not making finals changes things for Dogs and Melbourne are very much watching the situation very closely and have made contact again

No

Some of the ones I was coming across were board-level, not player managers

David King

Wasn't King calling for his head for most of the year?

I really hope not Bevo, and both Kingy and Kornes are clowns, great at entertaining on their chat shows but that’s really all it is, entertainment.

I’d love to know what Goody or someone at Melbourne did to Kornes, he seems to always have such a personal vendetta against the MFC.

Imagine getting rid of Goody for wacky Bevo

Absolutely not unless he brings Bont. Then I guess he can be midfield coach or something.

Have we already got our new coach?

Someone must’ve made the decision on Tmac & Melksham?

We still have a List Manager.

He is one Lamb that is yet to be sacrificed…

What on earth is he trying to say here?

with king it doesn't matter; he'll say the opposite within the next 42 minutes

Watson was on radio yesterday and said the actual process hasn't really started so think we've just been getting candidates sorted so far. Interviews should start soon and you'd hope the details of which remain under wraps. We might hear about the list of candidates being narrowed down but I doubt (hope) not much else until we announce the coach.

1 minute ago, whatwhat say what said:

In this case it seems he achieved that goal in one sentence.

Well, Bevo would certainly be a 'different' voice.

He is prob related to Caroline Wilson.

Obviously.

Not asking for a trade and not being told you’re up for trade are two separate things.

And to be fair being as he’s contracted, he too would have a fair amount of say in his fate

Oh.

I have have barely watched or listened to any footy media this season, probably the least ever.

This was before the 2021 GF. Bevo accused Morris of trying to undermine the Bulldogs with his reporting of someone being dropped

Edit: Sorry, after Rnd 1 2022. Link below

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
