Theres been a few whispers on here that supposedly we are into Max Heath from St Kilda.

205xm ruckman who can also rest up forward and take a strong contested mark.

Watched him closely today against North and he was pretty impressive.

Played just his 3rd AFL game and had 10 disposal, 4 marks and kicked 2.2 and 9 hitouts as a resting ruckman.

Not only would he take over from Gawn but it would mean that JVR could focus full time on his forward craft.

Big unit also..

I heard John Donohoe mention this on SEN today during the St Kilda game.

Has it come up anywhere else?

Someone on here mentioned something similar in terms of hearing it from SEN as well.

Not that I can recall?

What was the general discussion on SEN?

is supposedly 'in discussions' to stay at the aints

seems strange given that they're bringing in tdk plus they still have marshall

Isn’t there talk Marshall wants out with TDK going there?

They were talking about St Kilda going after TDK, and the flow on impact it might have with Marshall. Donohoe then mentioned that Marshall’s best football was when he played alongside Paddy Ryder, and that as a result he might want to stay, and that Max Heath instead might be looking elsewhere, and he mentioned that we’d been connected to him. Just dropped it into the sentence and they all moved on.

'Max'.

It's destined, surely.

How good would it be to have a successor to our unique colossus also named Max (even if his is only a shortie at only 205 cm). 🤗🤗🤗

One can always dream.

There is talk about Geelong (shock surprise) But I think he ends up staying at the Saints who want him to stay.

so still contracted with two years remaining

Won't necessarily stop him requesting a trade if feeling miffed. Tis how it rolls these days.

melbourne has, or demonland has?

it seems like someone raises it on here and within a couple of days it's in the media

The couple of days is how long it takes Tim Lamb to read it here and make a phone call

A perfectly reasonable option to consider.

Got to be all about the young rucks with a bit of versatility right now, because obviously nobody is going to go full 50/50 split with Gawn until he decides to switch it up and get his 10th All-Australian selection as a CHB just for the lols.

There's also one in the draft, but I've already forgotten the name.

It would be terrific fun to have a multiple versatile ruck options who have followed that old development path of establishing a game in another position.

Heath as Forward-ruck, K White as defender-ruck, and then Jackson comes back in as a roving midfield-ruck.

Wheeee.

I have decided not to be too serious about trade season until at least prelim finals.

The Demon stalwart surpassed the number of his father's appearances for the club towards the end of the season. As he approaches his thirties, his pace is inevitably slowing, and he is likely to explore alternative opportunities beyond the team's midfield.

“Disco” took his time (four seasons) but the mid-season draftee has been a shining light of Melbourne's campaign, improving to become a versatile option at either end of the ground. He has great marking skills which allows him to play as a marking target up forward or an intercepting defender down back.

The skipper delivered another outstanding season, leading the team from the front, participating in every game, and earning club champion honours, while also securing an equal record eighth All-Australian blazer as a ruckman.  Max Gawn is arguably the greatest exponent of ruck skills in the history of the game; an exceptional leader who has guided the club to a premiership, through the challenging times that followed, and now into the next phase of its storied history.

It was a frustrating season for the former number 13 draft selection, who failed to build momentum in his second campaign; Tholstrup played only nine games, having been omitted twice and substituted out three times. However, he demonstrated promising signs in the midfield at Casey towards the end of the season, and big things are anticipated from him in the coming years.
