Welcome to Demonland: Brody Mihocek

Nice, 2 year deal. Leads well, workhorse and kicks goals.

Hopefully this whole toe situation can be rectified.

He's got strong hands and knows how to use his body.

Positive for our fwd line.

Brody Mihocek welcome to the Demons! Hope it works out better than the last Brody we got from Pies!!

Everyone looks better in our colours!

If we're outside our window aren't we better off getting a youngish forward (aged 20-35 would be perfect) who will be part of our finals in 2-3 years after our mini rebuild?

I guess none wanted to come to us but surely there's a few high potential developing forwards in the twos of other clubs.

Glad we were able to get him across on a two year deal

Welcome Brody! Reckon he’ll be a solid pick up who will help develop our young talls

Only problem is no one wants to trade away high potential developing forwards, for obvious reasons.

Great get!

Strong reliable tall fwd of which we have zero

And for free

And we weaken the Pies!

King didn’t come here for a rebuild

He came for a rebound

and we desperately need leadership and team first mentality etched into the group

Welcome Brody, we need your smarts!

Fast track our forwards, teach them craft, you will be loved around here....just continue to perform like you have your entire career and we may even forget you played for Collingwood, and you are purely "ours".

You are yet to meet @Ghostwriter but I am sure she will explain how things are now! You are ours!!

100% right! I can’t wait to meet Brody, he’ll be welcomed with open arms (quite literally 😁). He’s got a fan in me, that’s for sure. Just like you, I’m so glad he’s ours ❤️💙

Agree. 2 year deal. Solid citizen. He’s 33 at the start of 2026 but brings footy smarts and is a proven goalkicker. Like our Melksham and like Gunston at the Hawks, smart players can defy the age barrier and still continue to play good footy.

Rebound was the plan, before we lost May, Oliver, Petracca and McVee. We aren’t going to rebound now, mini rebuild it is

playing alongside the younger forwards will take pressure off them and as said before they might learn a thing or 2.
We have a decent amount of young fellas (JvR, Jeffo, Kentfield) - will they all make it? TBC
But this might help them, so a stop-gap option.
Also having a good fwd will assist the mids find their groove.

May and Oliver have been encouraged to leave so that is part of the plan

Don’t judge until trade and draft periods are done

We have JVR, Jefferson and Kentfield as these young developing forwards. Whether they make it is another story.

Regardless, I think rebound is out the window for 2026.

Hmmm, ok.

The biggest positive I can draw from this is that JVR now has an on-field tuition from a quality, big-bodied forward. Something he’s never had.

Other than that, it feels like a band-aid on a bruise.

Much needed tall experience for us even if the Brody is heading into the twilight of his career. something positive for us out of the “Filth” for a change.

i cant trust any player from the filth not to come in and try to sabotage us, just eww

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
