SEN: Demon out for season

Recommended Posts

Anyone thinking he might call it quits?

I know he has another year left on his contract, but if he's out for the rest of the season, he might think twice about continuing.

Would be terribly sad for someone who nearly broke the consecutive-matches record to be forced out of the game with injury.

Sad and ironic.

For anyone who is interested:

A hernia is a protrusion of a tissue, structure, or part of an organ through the muscular tissue or the membrane by which it is normally contained.

A hernia may be likened to a failure in the sidewall of a tire. The tire's inner tube behaves like the organ and the sidewall like the body cavity wall providing the restraint. A weakness in the sidewall allows a bulge to develop, which can become a split, allowing the inner tube to protrude, and leading to the eventual failure of the tire.

*ouch*

it seems a bit funny a bloke playing 240 odd games in a row and then missing a season with a hernia. It is yze though

same happened to crouch from swans played 196 games and now is in and out of the team

Ben Holland (nose) - test

Travis Johnstone (Achilles) - test

Brent Moloney (groin) - test

David Neitz (finger) - test

Jared Rivers (groin/back) - 1 week

Adem Yze (groin) - 1-2 weeks

Daniel Hughes (groin) - 3-4 weeks

Clint Bartram (knee) - indefinite

has he had the hernia all year or is this a recent development? because he has been listed as groin, you would think there is considerable difference in the pain of a groin strain and a hernia...if this is the case, you would think it strange that a previously injury free career has had a number of injuries all at once...

A year to run on his contract, he'll be back next year. where else is he going to make $400 grand in a year. He deserves another year on the list after all those years of service, he just has to earn a game.

Wouldn't mind betting he's gone. One less downhill skier on the list.

If its Neitz then il cry

hope it is get him rested and anyone else that is not well for this year is over.

lets start making in roads for next year.

get newton in and buckly get the young ones in now so we have more depth next year.

lets learn from this year that we cant carry anyone for it cost us

name or no name if you go out for any reason for now on you have to spend 2 weeks at sandy .

maybe the players might fight a bit harder.

neitz,tj, will come stright back in but have they done much to get them back in this year.

with neitz out for a while maybe some leaders may start to show their hands and melbourne might learn how to win with out him.

Does this new development allow a player to replace Yze who will now be on the long term injury list? Can we promote Neaves for a couple of games?

I imagine promoting him now would cost money and be rather pointless if he wasn't actually going to play.

Poor bloke. I know how he feels! I go in soon to get mine repaired. Hernias are hell whilst they are developing (feels like you are continually kicked in the balls..), but then settle down once they are finally ripped through the fascia. Couldn't imagine playing elite sport when it was flaring up!

Dr says I can be back excercising in one week. Probably for a top footballer it would be 4 weeks max as it is only a laporoscopic repair. Not season ending by any stretch - nor career ending. Both of these things depend entirely on other circumstances!

a rookie will probably be promoted on the thursday if they thought he was worthy of a game for the weekend, they wont promote someone just for the sake of it

could give a another kid to make a play of things later in the year

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
