Max still $51 for Brownlow. Am I the only one who thinks that's outrageous?

Was surprised as well, no one else will be stealing votes from him this year, unfortunately now you need so many votes too win you can’t get up with 20 something anymore

He could quite well have polled 10-13 votes in the last 5 weeks. 3s against Richmond, West Coast, Brisbane and Freo, maybe pinch one against the Hawks. He polls pretty well for a ruckman too. If he keeps this form up wouldn't be surprised at all to see him near the pointy end.

It's not, as sadly umpires have blinkers on when it comes to Brownlow votes. Only true mids win the award these days.

And I suppose the bookies also don't think Max can sustain this level of performance, which of course he can, and has done so 7 times before.

He does, though interesting that Xerri is the leader.

Completely agree.

He was $151 last week too!!

Nick Daicos is the fav at $5 despite his average form the last couple of weeks

Xerri having a great year, but Max has him covered in just about every stat you can think of bar tackles (easily) and clearances (just). I feel like Max's game would catch the umpires' eye slightly more as well, with the high marking. Along with the bald head/beard combo he's pretty hard to miss!

Xerri looks to be the one who'll take the mantle eventually, other than perhaps De Koning.

They might be picking two rucks in the AA this year.

Dont be surprised to see Cripps poll votes even in Carlton games he did not play due to injury

Neale will also get 3 votes for yesterday’s game

Not to mention " Mouse" Faicos

No love for Clarry IS surprising!

It's a midfielder's award. There'll be a few that'll get lots of votes where if you looked back at the specific games where it's obvious the umps have overrated their efforts.

Dees $101 for the flag, into Gawn $51 for the Brownlow, into Langford $7 for the rising star.

Could we, could we?

Apologies for railroading this thread into punting talk! I know some don’t like it. Back onto the coaches award, I really wish this was the most prestigious award instead of the Brownlow. I feel like the wheel is turning in this regard, but the Brownlow still gets all the attention. Coaches opinion should far outweigh the umpires opinion.

In an unprecedented security breach, the Brownlow votes for our game v Brisbane have been leaked.

3 - P. Cripps

2 - N. Daicos

1 - L. Neale

You forgot:

3 votes / Carlton C… Judd

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
