The old junk time goal curse strikes again.

They look far too quick and get into space way better than we do. We are defending well generally but if we turn it over at half forward they almost always score.

Yep classic Deetime.

I reckon we've just backed off in intensity and running the last 5 mins for sure

That aged well.....hahahahha.

That's annoying giving up the goal near the end of the quarter

Remember seeing a goal back in the 90’s. Incredible feeling.

Who said viney can't kick

I did and my heart was in my mouth when he took that shot

Ripping start.

They’ve passed my first test, showing pressure and intensity early, and added scoring to boot.

Now the next test - doing it for more than one quarter.

Far out.. Oliver and Petracca are killing us with their ball use. Absolutely horrific with some of their touches.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
