Now watching the storm about to kick off. A coach that knows how to coach & a team that knows how to play & win.

But will be keeping an eye on the west coast game

The days of the umpire bias for WC are over thank christ

The reason North looked amazing against us is that we apply absolutely zero pressure. No physicality, no desire from us since round 1.

All Carlton had to do today was be a little harder...put a few goals on north and their very attacking mids drop their heads. They don't work two ways.

We didn't even try to test them - we are so so so slow, lethargic, one dimensional and gassed that it genuinely provides energy to the other team

Yep. We were either as fumbly or worse than they were, looked slower and our pressure just looked horrible. They weren’t good, we were REALLY awful

A shame West coast couldn't go on with it. Yes I know that would mean us being on the bottom.

But what happened to draper?

Essendon already lost 1 ruckman last week

Bombers paid a mark for what we weren't last week, then also a fiddy. Of course.

Best recent decision by the Pies was to trade out Jack 'my shorts are too big because I've got a little *&(#@) Ginnivan. They woke up to the nightmare before most footy followers. Wouldn't mind betting Sidey and Pendles had their fingerprints all of that.

I’d love the tea on that trade. There’s got to be a reason they were so happy to get rid of him

Not really sure why there is buzz around LDU from North, maybe had a bad game but I only watched a little and the 4 or 5 instances where he was involved he made a meal of each one. Just looked selfish, but maybe that’s as a result of the losses stacking up and forcing you to think you have to do it yourself.

Lots of despair on X tonight from North supporters. I know our season is [censored] but thank God we had some recent success.

This is a big part of it.

Goodwin called it out this week.

It's almost my sole focus tomorrow. If we're not "on", and early, that will say a lot IMO.

Loved Hunt’s pressure in the last couple of minutes.

Miss that headband. Had to confirm it was him

Expecting more from H Reid. Looked like he wasn't in the centre for that final bounce.

Entertaining game between two cellar dwellers

Well I guess we can cross West Coast over there in round 8 off the winnable list based on tonight.

So now it’s down to Richmond, North and West Coast at Marvel.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #42 Aidan Johnson

The VFL premiership player was recruited from Werribee to alleviate Melbourne’s forward line woes and give a chop out in the ruck, but he managed only five senior matches in his first season at the club. At times, he was a dominant force at VFL level.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #44 Luker Kentfield

An exciting young key forward, Kentfield was selected in the 2024 mid-season draft but has yet to make his AFL debut. He was sidelined by a severe bout of pneumonia over the summer, which consequently limited his pre-season. Upon his return a month into the season, he commenced in defence but ultimately impressed with his progress at Casey, particularly in the latter part of the season as a strong marking goal kicking forward.

  • AFLW REPORT: West Coast

Melbourne’s response to last week’s heartbreak was emphatic, as the Demons delivered a statement win over West Coast at a windswept Casey Fields. All of the pre-match hype surrounded the coach’s box matchup of Mick Stinear up against his apprentice, Daisy Pearce along with the gloomy weather forecast. In the end, it was less about tactical chess and more about Melbourne’s relentless execution. With rain looming, the DeeArmy and early birds snapped up the best undercover viewing spots.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.
