    From 'The Age' just now:

    Collingwood premiership star Brayden Maynard was involved in a car accident on Thursday morning.

    The Magpies said no one was injured in what football boss Charlie Gardiner described as “an unfortunate accident” involving another car.

    Sounds like he drives in much the same manner as he plays football, except he didn't injure anybody this time.  "Unfortunate accident", hey?

    Definitely. Before the introduction of opening round the footy-starved masses looked forward to the Carl vs Rich Thursday night season opener, no matter who they support. It wasn’t so much that it’s Carl or Rich, it’s that it’s footy.

    None of the articles say the time Maynard's 'accident' happened.  Last time he crashed his car it was 6.00am.

He was sidelined by a severe bout of pneumonia over the summer, which consequently limited his pre-season.       Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.
