Rucks are becoming less important in the modern game. Many coaches don't care too much about the ruck, they're happy to break even. I don't read replies or reactions

I’m just happy we are destabilising freo for once: they’ve been coming after our players ever since Jeff White.

how ironic that we’re gonna be drafting kalani this year as well. Having dogga and max to guide him while he develops is gonna be absolutely massive.

Ever Since Steven Tingay...

The problem is if we can keep Kozzy, we might have to package up one or two of our WA boys...

I'm not sure how this gets done if Kozzy wants to stay.

Future first and one player perhaps?

Maybe I'm completely blinded by nuffie glasses, but I'd expect if Pickett for Jackson was the start, we'd also want quite a buit more in addition.

This part is the nuffle glasses taking. Straight swap is probably the expectation.

Kalani is a defender first before a ruckman. I think he’d be a suitable replacement for May.

We all know that in 4 years time when we still have f50 connection problems, we’ll have a thread to move Kalani up forward and blame Goody when he refuses to pull the trigger.

Freo will be praying he doesn’t speak to reporters

He makes Clarry sound like Stephen Fry

People thinking Freo don’t need Pickett are missing something. Imagine having a Pickett forward and a Pickett in the middle rotating with the Pickett forward. Sheesh, 18 Picketts would do me

If there were a mid season trade period, it'd be interesting if both clubs would pull that trigger.

The club will continue to prioritise keeping Kosi above all else. And so they should.

Kosi should not come into the conversation whatsoever, if we feel there is even a small chance he will be happy to stay put. He is far too valuable to just offer up for a player who clearly has a strong desire to not only move back to Victoria, but who is pretty set on the idea of playing for us. That doesn't happen often, and it gives us more leverage than it does Freo.

Also wonder how Kosi will feel, knowing that if he goes to Freo, he all but makes his cousin Dudley a fringe player. Hard to see how Freo plays all 3 of Dudley, Kosi and Bolton, plus Reid and Walters. It just doesn't work.

Trade Clarry for a F2 and get rid of 90-100% of his salary

Mcvee, JVR & F1 for Jackson

Free Agent- worpel & Allen

Instantly back into flag contention with another pre season under the belt of our high end youth core.

Yeh, just found it interesting that in this thread we're asking for a sweeter in the deal but Freo fans are wanting us to chuck in a first rounder as well.

Enjoy the different club based perspectives on it.

If in the event both players want to be traded I assume the value of their contracts will decide who has the greater trade value. Both clubs will be aware of the amount each player is willing to accept at a new club.

Ive said it thousands of times. We haven't had an x-factor, match winner/match turner for decades and Kozzie is all that.

Jackson fit with our list well and was recruited for that reason but I'd want three Jackson's for Kozzie.

langford? 7 games in and 3 bog's already he is that guy

i would like to see jackson, treacy and a pick maybe for jvr, kosi and mcvee/woey that then frees up a spot down back for sestan and or adams also that only leaves us needing a small forward everywhere else on the ground is solid

We need to work out away of keeping kossi, and getting Jackson back, offering 2 future first plus a fringe player( maybe Mcvee ) would be the perfect outcome.

I reckon we offer Michael Hibberd and our second round pick to Geelong in exchange for their first round pick. While Hibbo is no longer on our list he is 35 years old and I reckon Geelong might go for it.

If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there, does it still make a sound?

flagmantle supporters - dogga is worth more than pickett!

mfc supporters - pickett is worth more than dogga!

non-involved parties - who cares, just pass the popcorn and put peter bell on trade radio

Just read the trade wrap on Fox footy website that still says

Oliver and Kosi goes and Dogga stays.

FFS - Dogga has all but confirmed he’ll request a trade and “he stays” while all our boys are keeping quiet and “they go”

23yo Ruck/Fwd kicked 43 goals over the past 2 seasons

Hit Out avg this year is >27 this year

Our list is crying out for LJ! We have recruited VFL and players not getting a game to try to fill the void like Fullarton and AJ - he would have a huge impact on our structure

In isolation (disregarding the Kozzi situation), this is a 'where do we sign' situation

Sorry can someone please explain these offield issues I keep reading about? Not sure we need another player with offield issues

Not those types of off field issues.

Family drama that can be resolved by, you guessed it, getting the hell away from said family.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
