Hmm today I have travelled to Singapore. My GD was playing under 16 basketball the game finished and I could get the result and stats 10 minutes after the game finished on an airplane. The VFL is a joke. Oh her team won.

Tbf you can get all the VFL stats from a regular season game on the AFL website. They are obviously just not doing It for a practice match.

It’s funny, 30-40 years ago we didn’t even know which players were drafted or traded until it was reported in a newspaper. Now we are unhappy to not get stats for a reserves practice match!

It’s the 21st century DA! Why can’t someone from the VFL , Casey or MFC do this it’s not rocket science.

I’m at a DA working bee right now and one of the guys was at the match yesterday.

He confirmed that Ricky M was incredible in the second half, didn’t stand out in the first half. He said Hendo and Jai were good and he was pleased with their performance.

This guy is a Casey aficionado and says in general Casey was very strong and impressive.

Charles only played one half. Jeffo took several good marks and kicked at least two goals.

No injuries 🥳

Mentha was solid down back, from I was since read he continued to play well.

Interesting that he played down back. Perhaps it's in response to the loss of AMW and to a lesser extent McVee.

Thanks for the report DeeV

Interesting dc I don’t think they have news papers any longer up here. Everyone has some sort of electronic device. Get on a train and not one newspaper or book to be seen. Everyone is watching news, movies and shows. There are from what I have seen no newspapers to be seen anywhere. None in hotel lobby or breakfast restaurant. Ideal place for the electronics world. Big population in a small area, easy and cheap to provide the internet.

Strange…I was of the understanding that Casey have a large following in Singapore. I was told by my friend who operates a stall at the Newton Food Centre, that there’s a guy named Hung who does road maintenance around the Johor Causeway area, and who owns a transistor radio that he has permanently tuned into Casey Radio. If you ask around, you might be able to track him down and get some stats.

Oh, and as an aside, my medication seems to be doing its job.

hard to know what to believe.   Tmac, Campbell Brown and Jefferson named in 30 players listed on AFL website for WA game.  AFL website>matches>fixtures>Freo v Dees>Lineups.

Good to hear hardtack. I rang causeway construction and they said Hung is on annual leave. Believe he was visiting a rel in Melbourne.

I got Mr. Hung’s private number off the internet. When I called there was a recorded message ‘I’m Hung, leave a message if you want your causeway maintained.’

What's Casey in Chinese characters

Sure! The name "Casey" in Chinese characters can be transliterated as 凯西 (Kǎi xī). The pronunciation is "Kǎi" for 凯 and "xī" for 西. Remember, this is just a phonetic representation and may not have the same meaning as the original English name.

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
