And by the sounds of it, Trac not 100% either

No he is fine but no contact till next week permitted. Therefore no March sim yesterday.

And didn't McAdam look good in those highlights??!!!

Heartbreaking. The look on his face as he came off the ground 💔 😢 He already knew it was a significant injury.

Poor bloke, sport can really suck sometimes

All I’ve take. From this is that the beer they had available means that the club doesn’t think people want to drink beer or just all have awful taste.

Very uninspiring beer list.

It didn’t matter anyways. A hugely disappointing turnout means not much was sold by any of the vendors.
We weren’t allowed to put on a BBQ because the Casey Canteen didn’t want us as competition. Turns out that at the end of the event they were forced to give away a heap of unsold hot and/or perishable food for free. Pies, pasties, sausage rolls, dim sims, hot chips, salad rolls and more, all destined for the bin.

The crowd was so small it wasn’t just disappointing, it was embarrassing. Why it wasn’t scheduled for a Saturday or Sunday arvo is beyond me.

The only winner is my teenage son who gets to live on Harvest Snaps chips, salad rolls, sausage rolls and spinach/ricotta pastries instead of the usual sausages. 😜

Trac and Viney are just being protected from themselves. Seasoned pro’s who don’t need to be rushed back for match sim. They’ve played enough footy and done enough training to miss a few full bore sessions.

Really disappointing to hear regarding food and BBQ.

Sooner we get Caufield up and running the less we have to deal with going all the way out to that [censored]

And seriously, sort your scheduling out MFC!

Bit like Clarry last yeah huh?

Spin it how you like. The club played Clarry so he wasn’t left out or isolated. Almost the opposite. Not hard to differentiate why Trac and Viney would be left out but Oliver wouldn’t…. but go on.

Happy to get a ban if they want.

Mcadam did an Achilles! Could happen to anyone, just ask Marshall from Port.

He’s been training hard and trying to get fit for round 1. His season is now over because of a mishap, which has nothing to do with his efforts of being an afl player.

Maybe he is a bust when it comes to trading pick 28, but there’s a countless number of busts from pick 1 onwards.

how about support your team.

If you were issued a ban for addressing such astounding insensitivity I’d start a riot.  These players are human beings with feelings. Shane is absolutely gutted. It’s gonna be sad to see his demeanour of old again. It’s heartbreaking.

McAdam to undergo surgery

Rotten luck.

Poor fella, is that career done? would only have like 10 games in the last 3 years?

Feel for the guy.
Got the feeling this year was the first year he mentally felt good and now his body has let him down again.

Not ideal for him but he was signed on a 3 year deal so he does have the protection. Up to the club how they handle that.

Really rough luck for Shane and the side, was looking forward to seeing what he could do he has the talent...

3 year deal, so he's still contracted next year.

Might make sense to go down the Hunter route and pay him out.

Culley or George, here's your chance...

Your feeling about that is right. Shane has gone from sullen and downcast and generally disengaged to confident and buoyant and super keen, raring to go. He’s another one who can’t disguise his feelings. It’s gonna take our professional psych staff quite the effort to bring his spirits back up. It’s just devastating.

So sad for Shane, was really excited to see him have a good go at it. Such a shame and feel for the guy. Hopefully he makes it back at some point after all this bad luck :(

Poor Shane 😢

In related news, the Herald Sun are reporting we’re now likely to add Jai Culley to the list if we move Shane to the LTI list

The timing of this match is the sort of thing that needs to be raised at the AGM. Why are we embarrassing ourselves and our hardworking volunteers? Is there a good reason? I certainly can’t think of a good reason for a Friday afternoon timeslot in school term.

The McAdam injury is devastating given his changed fitness and attitude this pre-season. Only serves to compound the frustration that comes with Pickett’s suspension.

I mean all of these sound amazing, especially not eating sausages 😂

Poor Shane. As a 29yo working his backside off and has since season ripped away

Agreed. These comments stating he (McAdam) is “a bust”, are so unnecessary and so insensitive. Yes, maybe he was a bust at the time he was recruited, but so what?? He had been working his [censored] off in an attempt to get his body right and, by all reports, appeared to be putting together good training sessions and getting himself into a position where he was a good chance to get the vacant Pickett spot for the beginning of the season.

A little empathy does not go astray… just consider the fact that the players are quite likely to be aware of this forum, and that there’s a chance that they do occasionally read the comments.

I really hope that the club get around him and give him the mental support that he will need… it must be utterly soul destroying!

Happy for Jai but surprised we didn’t add Roy George as we need small fwds so badly

Yes, it made it logistically impossible to get the kids there after school. We can't teleport there!

Family days need to be on weekends or during school holidays, surely they understand this...?

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
