Hey all! Glutton for punishment here 😑

@48 Year Now look away now buddy, I’m about to relay part of a convo I just had with a player which may or may not be entirely made up.

According to Kolt Judd’s decision came out of the blue - a complete shock. He was also convinced Judd was staying. He said Judd is a “closed book” most of the time but in terms of his future he made it clear he wasn’t going anywhere.

And no, I didn’t bring up the subject, Kolt did. He asked me how I felt about it and I told him I wish Judd all the best, and left it at that.

@Lucifers Hero Luci, I told Kolt he’s your new boy and you’ll be changing your avi accordingly (online in general, I didn’t mention DL) and he said, “Tell her to make sure she chooses a good pic of me” which is sooooooo Kolt 😅

He just got back from 10 days in Japan with Luker and today he’s in the gym (by choice) because he’s gearing up for preseason which starts in six weeks.

Glad to hear/hoping Tholstrup’s knuckling down in this off-season.

He was hit right between the eyes during his exit interview that his on field performances and off field habits are a long way off AFL standard, let along first round draft pick standards.

One to watch in pre-season.

Gotta say a little bit disappointed you didn’t know the exact date training started @Ghostwriter.

Ikr. I dropped the ball there. 😅

The W takes precedence now. We’re only just over halfway through the season and barring anything unforeseen (and catastrophic) we’ll go deep into November. There’ll be an overlap with the men’s training but hopefully there’ll be sessions where they’re both at the one venue 🤞🏽

Hate to nit pick, but that doesn’t seem right. So I just checked wheeloratings and at least in that site he is 92nd for defenders score involvement’s. Just as well I am on a train with nothing better to do than scroll through 25 pages of players ranked by SIs.

Score involvements is different to assists

Ahuh… I knew it.

Kolt was the liar all along.

Sneaky, lying Kolt.

Doesn't surprise me.

What did surprise me is that we continued to select him. Did the kid and the team no favours.

I'm looking forward to seeing him in 2026. With the right attitude I reckon he'll lock himself into the 22 on merit and become a weapon across the half-forward line with midfield bursts. From the outside looking in, I sense he has the ability to become a brayshaw-like figure for team culture and camaraderie.

Hi ghosty.

I am trying to keep up.

McVee announces he is leaving a day or two ago and you have seen Kolt since and he initiates a conversation about being shocked Judd is leaving?

The point came directly from the coach to McVee face-to face.

The positional thing sounds like a cop off to me. I think for a reason we don’t yet know he feels the need to be in WA.

I agree that the positional thing sounds like a furphy. But I can't imagine a young player sharing his true motivation for leaving with someone he barely knows, and has only been in the door 5 minutes.

People need to stop portraying McVee as an egotist with tickets on himself.

As I said, you must be getting information from within the Football Department, of which only 2 or 3 are still left, and would be privy to such information.

Maybe your source is trying to save face by portraying McVee as the bad guy.

Why is it that every year there are disgruntled supporters posturing about sending a player that has requested to the PSD.

Food for thought, What does that signal to other athletes considering coming, the rest of the competition and families of players?

We’re only talking about a scenario where the offer is completely unreasonable.

Last year when the cats were lowballing the dogs, as a neutral I would’ve viewed Geelong as the irresponsible party if a deal didn’t get done.

I think over the long term, net net the club would be better to stand their ground in unreasonable scenarios.

Some Freo fans here in Perth suggest a straight swap for Jye Amiss.

You’re keeping up perfectly coz that’s exactly what happened.

I was in a café, Kolt came over, we had a big hug and he told me about his holiday with his brother and Luker in Japan. We talked about other stuff then he said, “how about Judd, that was a shock.” And that’s exactly how it went.

Where's 37 coming from? Spargo compo.

I know the points calculator isn't a great way of working out deals but our outs and ins would equate McVee to be worth pick 36. Think we can do better.

If that's the case, thanks but no thanks Brodie Mihocek.

Looks like a Carlton fan created that. 2 players for bags of half eaten chips and we lose Judd for small pick upgrades

Everyone but west coast would be angry with that deal, west coast would be running away as fast as they can with that

Giving up a lot for not much back in a weak draft, don't see the point of this. I'd be going for their pick 11 if we are giving up McVee, 23 and 37.

Freo aren't giving up 11 for that return, and McVee isn't worth 11

It was one post - not really that hard to "keep up" i wouldn't have thought.

May I suggest that you'd have a much better day if you put this particular poster on block. That way she wouldn't get under your skin, as she appears to.

That way also, most of us here who enjoy her posts will have a better day too!

Yeh, that's the end of second which a few in the know have said it will be around the end of second round. so, I just went right at the end.

point's calculator is not the way to go in this draft, you just want to move forward in the first round as much as possible

Would take that in a heart beat and run!

22 year old KPF who's already topped 40 goals a season. Not gonna happen though. We'd have to throw in something additional to get a deal like that done sadly.

Amiss has kicked 115 goals from 70 games to lead everyone from that draft class. This was his worst season and still had 32 goals as a 21 year old.

very underrated but if we could get him here would be a dream. Contracted until 2029 there’s no chance we get him without giving up a first outright.

Does anyone know ? Did he speak to our new coach ? Or was his mind made up earlier, or did his mother phone him and ask him to come back

Disappointed he had a poor year but I expected a better one next year .

Get what we can. Move on. Opens thr door for someone else
