Carroll is the freshest breathe of air i have seen for this club for quite a while. im not saying he is best player, but he is fantastic to watch. About time someone bought some flair and charactor back to the competition. The anger in his eyes as he attacks the ball brings tears of joy to this demons flaming red eyes. I have one request for you if you happen to see this mate and that is please remove rocca's head from his shoulders.

I think that it is unfortuante that he has had the most goals kicked on him this year than any other full-back. He hasnt been as instrumental as last year, but still solid, hard and courageous.

figures to back up this statement?

though seeing as we have probably conceded the most amount of goals in the comp, it sounds likely, but cant be blamed soley on carrol when the opposition gets the ball into the 50 twice as many times as us.

About 2 weeks ago, if that, in the Herald Sun, there was a big article on full-backs showing how many goals they'd conceeded for the year to date. Ben Rutten was the most miserly, whereas at the other end of the table was Nathan Carroll. Certainly a lot of the goals he's conceeded he could do much about, such is the unenviable task of being in a side on a massive losing streak...

No problem with Ricciuto. But needs Holland or Miller when gorillas are about

I was just thinking about Carroll as I watched the replay today...

He's not been spoken about much, certainly compared to last year, but he comes up a lot in conversations surrounding our defensive 6, or our future 3 defensive KP players. And often what is written is not good.

We all know the sun shines powerfully out of Rivers' posterior, and already any objective footy fan can see Frawley has talent... For mine Carroll, even when getting lots of goals kicked on him, is nearly as important over the next 5 years as these two. No, he's not the perfect player, but his strengths simply cannot be ignored. He marks strongly, is a smart if not gifted kick, is as courageous as the day is long, and one of the more startling things about him is his resilience...

I was thinking about his pain tolerance when he was lying on the ground, looking VERY ginger as Perrie was taken off to hospital. Every second week he is cleaned up horrifically, yet his effort, and the quality of his footy remains a constant no matter WHAT happens....

For a guy I thought may never make it at AFL level, he is an absolute rock in defence these days. I am now completely comfortable seeing that weird head bobbly around in the packs, and when it's not there, I'm just a liiiittle more nervous.

That statistic is meaningless. Typical filler from the Sun.

The goals kicked is more a function of game style, center clearance rates, inside 50's etc, none of which have anything to do with Carrolls ability.

Of course Rutten would be lowest, based on Adelaides game style and propensity to close down and slow down a game - we saw it perfectly on saturday.

Not that big for a key backman(compared to the likes of Chad Cornes) but has a crack.

no freak you have got it wrong there! Carrol is way bigger then chornes!

ummm...

Carroll is 191 cm and 91 kg's

Cornes is 192 cm and 96 kg's

So i guess Carroll is smaller than Cornes

A bit of research never goes astray.

    Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning.     A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.     Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9.
