Wait until you see the guys who can do it for 2 hours, that will knock your socks off.

If you ever cycle to work and cover around 21km in an hour, it's scary to realise you are only travelling at marathon world record pace.

Re: Sharp - My Brisbane supporting mate said the following;

I think he’s an AFL standard player who is probably 23rd-28th in line for a spot in our line up.  Lions rate him massively, best runner at the club.  Think you’re getting a good one tbh.  Sharp played a handful of games and was emergency for just about every other one in the last 2-3 years. Consistently just about our best VFL player.  Just victim of our list. He’s a winger for sure, but can play inside. Surprisingly tough. Query is on his kicking but it isn’t terrible.

Traits similar to Langdon. Hope he spends the summer mentoring him

No AFL highlights on the MFC forum for Sharp but there’s a dodgy clip of one of his AFL goals on YouTube.

edit - tried to post on this thread but no luck

I did 100m in 9.58s in my Datsun yesterday and it terrified the beejesus out of me

Obviously wasn't a 180B unless you change that 9.58s to 9.58m

Highlights

No problems in highlights! Can mark, has flair and seems a good kick (despite what they say! Despite highlights only showing the good side, I am happy with the trade. 👍

Not high enough and too far away from opposition interceptors for my liking.

Not easily satisfied. Looks fast enough for you I hope.

Are we starting a grid iron team?

Caleb best in the centre to have forward impact at its highest point. Will be a revelation in this role and 20 goals could be the reward also.

Geelong have done very well with Holmes at half back just sprinting to space, it’s a valid use of speed to break forward presses and zones.

But I’d rather get form and fitness in to the 2 you named and Juddy. Maybe Howes and AMW too.

Speed from the stoppage is the dream, might be a couple of years before Caleb has the body for that though. I like trialling some of the half forward option to begin with and breaking zones open there.

Either way I hope there’s more than the wing for him. The wing is a great start but it means he’s getting the ball on the boundary half the time and there’s only so much value to that.

He is a centre man star in the waiting think Swan Warner!

Langdon Windsor Sharp

Speed     Speed.    Speed

and connectivity to forward line.

If he fills Hunter's spot, that's a fail. Hunter was disinterested this year.

I think he has more upside than ANB, who was inconsistent from year to year.

Not his last 5 years from the Flag on.

Highlights seem to suggest there might be a handy contributor in there. Has the signature attacking mindset of the Brisbane side.

As an 19yr old I had a Datsun 1200 coupe that my brother in law had done up, that thing was so light and it flew. Loved it.

Except the talk is playing him high half forward

Sorry was talking about The Duke That’s why I included a potential centreline.

Shouldn’t have switched  players in a topic, but I understand Sharp could well be a high half forward ostensibly replacing ANB.

Who will play on the other wing then?

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
