Yeah, it was discussed on SEN this arvo by Josh Jenkins and Adam Cooney plus another dude. He's apparently asking for $700Kp.a on the back of one decent season. The above rated him at 400-500K, hence the lack of interest.

He could be a handy replacement for Nibbler?🤷‍♂️

Not one bit. He’s an opportunistic forward who refuses to defend and do the hard work. He’s the anti-ANB.

If anywhere near true, that’s just ridiculous. He should thank his lucky stars that he has Curnow and McKay with him. The Blues forward line compliments Owies and this season, made him look much better than he is. In most other teams forward lines, he’s never coming close to kicking the amount of goals he kicked this year.

Owies problem is that he’s a 179cm one paced marking forward with no exposed midfield form.  Doesn’t have the speed, defensive pressure or ground ball gathering ability of small forwards de jour.  Means in an era when speed and spread is prioritised he is seen as a limited contributor.

Wishing Owies all the best out West, in many ways a limited footballer but he is an accurate kick for goal and I kind of like it when forwards kick goals 😊

Spargo is a hack, and was playing for Casey last year. If he wasn't contracted, he'd be delisted. I haven't given up on McAdam.

Nah.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
