They've had plenty of time to think strategically about how to entice money out of various interests (state gov, fed gov, local gov etc), and come up with what? Kate had 11 years on the board for this very reason.

While I'm comfortable that Kate stood down as President, as she didn't communicate to a level you would expect from the President of a football club I don't accept the narrative that she failed to communicate with Trac or that she is in denial re challenges at our club.

Regardless of what the final outcome is of this one thing that really needs to improve is communications which at times has been amateurish.

At the 2 min 30 sec mark Trac specifically mentions Kate Roffey and the support from the club. Re speaking directly to Trac it was in reference to his frustrations raised with the Footy Department towards the end of season which were being managed by the Footy Department. As for speaking to his family, Trac and his partner had been away in Noosa to get away from footy so I'm not sure why the President would be calling him and his partner at this time.

You know what quotation marks are used for, right? I'm pretty sure that you do, and that along with some others on here you're now being deliberately disingenuous to push a political agenda, or at least willfully ignorant by dismissing the many posts which highlight the context of her comment in full and what can be genuinely attributable to Roffey.

I don't think it is. We've just seen our previous president swiftly pushed out and a new person given the top job. Would be nice to hear him speak and tell us what is going on. From the clubs perspective why did Roffey decide to step down a year before her term ended, what is the club's plan going forward, what can we be told about the review?

I think these are pretty reasonable questions for the club to answer.

I understand what you’re saying, but I would offer that the club probably wants to lay low, now that finals performances/outcomes/expectations are the media focus, thank god.
 

The club should be concentrating on the external review and when that’s logistically sorted, that should be the next announcement to come out. That way we control the narrative.

Only an opinion and not saying you’re incorrect to feel that way.

Personally I think that the clubs actions are doing the opposite of controlling the narrative. The media has told the story the whole way through. Take the review. We first hear Pert saying he'll be doing a review in the SEN interview, and he does one every year so its nothing remarkable. When Roffey goes Green says he's reviewing the board. Then a few days later we get a report that the club has 'backflipped' and we are actually doing an external review helmed by Darren Shand, then we find out that Green and Pert will also be on the panel of the review.

All of that confusion could have been avoided if the club announced the review when it was called for explaining who would be conducting it and what it's parameters are or if Green had given us a mission statement when he took over.

1. This year you will get an email from the Club advising you in advance of when nominations open - no need to subscribe to the Herald Sun and scour the classifieds. You can even nominate for the Board (there are spots up for grabs) - still have to find 20 endorsees though.

2. And after 1 October the Board cannot insert their preferred candidates onto the Board giving them an incumbency advantage going into the election.

3. If you make it to your 30 minute session with the Candidate Assessment Committee you wont be sitting opposite a majority of Board members.

4. And finally - you still can't "campaign" of course (no media circus you understand) but you can obtain a copy of the Members' Register and put your case directly to other members.

You are absolutely sure Kate stood on the Board on a ticket in 2013 on an invitation to spearhead the Training and Administration base. 

You do understand that in 2013 we had finished 5 years in the bottom of the ladder, were penniless and in debt plus Jim Stynes  had started the rescue act of recovery. 

Then the base was not a priority as our survival as a Club on the field and our underwhelming on field performances also of major concern. 

So although you say 11 years That’s  not really the full time we started the base seriously as each opportunity within a stones throw to the MCG was discarded by location, green groups and lack of vacant land available.

You would be aware of the reasons and circumstances of where we are today with Caulfield. 

Again the major reason  for the delay is the Caulfield intricacies location and State Govt involvement in this area. 

Do Melb fans want it built without due process and hasty overactive decisions? 

The State Govt are the chief stakeholder with the MRC and We can’t automatically overrule their processes towards the land usage at the Racecourse. 

So you know this but like many others are sheeting full blame on our Board for the delay. 

Kate has been Chair  while we have had an extraordinary 3 years of results and building our Club. 
Yes some of the gloss has started to override our success this year but we still well ahead of 2013 in our situation.

Thats what needs attending to in the next 6 mths so 2025 can be a restoration of our on field and off brand.
