Incorrect totally.

Since 2019 when we ceased being under AFL defacto style rule we have

Won AFL after 2 years, the first in 57 years and VFL for 20/30 years and W after only 3 seasons after W started.

Have had membership double since 2013 to record levels in years after 2019.

Record Junior membership which sees Dees now with whole new membership base  of young fans wearing 5 7 11 13 and many other heroes.

off field Sponsorship at record levels including prime  time and genuine blockbuster matches regularly each season since 2015 on F to Air also.

Casey Fields has had significant upgrades and now is a total second base of real quality with boutique potential that has provided the training base with a MCG size oval for our Club success since 2018.

also developed for AFLW who have stand of 2023 the best HAnd A record wins and losses of all Clubs. Casey has been our home ground since 2017 when AFLW started.

MFC now has assets of between $30 to $40 million most invested in a Future Fund.

In recent years each year has been profitable with between $1 and $4 million.

I am sure  there are other advantages we have now over 2013/19 so I can’t see in any way the developments that were underpinned from then to now in any way exceed our place in the AFL also.

On the cusp of an announcement of the home base project due to enable our 3 main Club needs to be established and centralised nearest our main supporter base in inner south east of Melbourne, Caulfield.

And you fondly remember 2013/ 15. Compared to now??

Please don’t stand to try and improve things if you are satisfied about 2013 Adam the God. You are easily pleased and thank heavens hugely misguided.

No not necessarily but 5 years has advanced our Club ( with the Jackson/ AFL starting along with the late great Jim Stynes the road back to glory and strength) 10-15 years in 5.

Maybe you weren’t around in 2013 Deeman to experience the lows mount up.

Our last 5 years ( and back to 2017/18 have  56% plus win rate with over 60% in the last 5 years!!!

This is not even opinion as so many facts support the fact that our Club is so much greater than in 2013!

Roffey didn't step in like she needed to when Trac got injured and kick six in the second half.

Quite. But also, when was the hand back, exactly? Calling this ‘revisionist history’ is a compliment, we are so ignorant of circumstance.

Maybe we should change the constitution then.

I have an issue with the board "replenishing itself" which I take to mean the old boys club running things without any sense of accountability.

That's what got us into the [censored] pre-2013 and it's what has got us back into the [censored] now.

Again, when was the ‘hand back’ and you ‘take to mean’ the steady string of AFL-approved board approached people as ‘the old boys club’? What do you think Democracy of the membership will get you?! We seek ‘approval’ from the AFL for those that we wish to keep and bring onto the board because it is the best way we can ensure that HQ are vested and happy with the skills we have to provide governance of the club - to continue to bleed the constitution to ensure more ‘freedom’ for individuals to encumber that is foolhardy. Democracy is for societal bodies and governmental representation, and something to be sought for and vociferously demanded - but not at footy clubs - let’s have some perspective.

Gee you don't think much of our poor old voting members do you? That elitist approach you have just outlined has led to how many Court cases recently? - just finished one (how much did that cost?) to make changes to election processes that were obvious, continued  just to stop Board candidates being interviewed by Gerard Whateley. And three cases on the go at the moment - one against 4 Board members, a second against 7 Board members and a single one against the current Vice President. Not to mention the worst facilities in the AFL. A Board that has jettisoned two Presidents in three years. I can see the AFL looking over proceedings at Melbourne and saying "everything's just fine!".

I don't know why Roffey had to fall on her own sword when it's Goodwin that should have. The club has had a million and one controversies and Goodwin hasn't taken responsibility for any of it. If we hadn't won a premiership he'd be gone. Another year like this and he has to go.

The Board “jettisoned” one president three years ago and less than six months later, we won an AFL premiership. Soon after followed a VFL premiership, then an AFLW flag and a McClelland Trophy. If that’s what “jettisoned” means, bring it on.

I could be wrong but Kate Roffey tendered her resignation. That’s not the same as being “jettisoned”.

As for litigation, we’re aware of one set of litigation that was recently decided and its outcome. The other cases are still running and we won’t know who is at fault until the case is heard. There’s nothing we can say about that so it’s not advancing your argument at all.

Lol. Your mate takes the board to court, and then in promoting his case you cite that as evidence as to the board's incompetence? The circular logic here is truly dizzying.

But wait. Your white-anting and disruption campaign potentially contributes to the president tendering her resignation, and so you frame that as the board jettisoning her, but as a strike against good governance?

I'm genuinely confused.

More to the point, if your mate has informed your opinion that the entire MFC board is either corrupt or incompetent, what can we hope for if he achieves his desperate bid for a seat? A total clean-out, telling it like it is? It doesn't auger well for our future if that his point of view, and then has to work with some of these same people to hopefully get things done.

We are all free to post here anonymously within the forum rules. I'm pretty open about who I am, but will answer any other questions as honestly as I can. I think if you still want to wage this concerted board campaign though @Hawk the Demon, then it's about time and probably fair that you be a bit more transparent about who you are and your connections to Peter Lawrence, as you're clearly more of a spokesperson rather than just a simple supporter.

It's pretty incontrovertible that the off field has gone down hill since 2019. Within just over a year, the president was replaced, now we've had another president replaced, and for the last 12 months, we've been leaking like a sieve. That culture is set from the executive. Under PJ we did not leak. I think you'll find there's been a significant commercial drop off this year too, which is partly a result of on field, but also a lack of commercial nous from those at the top. We didn't get a shorts sponsor for ages...

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
