Looking forward to the succeeding thread:

Club in recess - Media pile off - September 2024

Case in point: Stengle collapses in a nightclub at 2am and is in a serious condition in hospital.

Media virtually silent.

Club says “drink may have been spiked”. Please… give us some credit.

Dangerfield goes off script and says Stengle made an “error of judgement”. Oops, I thought his drink was spiked? How is it an error of judgment if he’s the victim of a crime?

Media: *crickets*

Imagine if that was Clarry.

A reassuring read - not that the media is picking up these points made sanely and succinctly, its onto the next clickity-bait story.

Imagine if all our slights and small work flareups or disgruntled comments were reported on like this one has been, it would feel like we all work in super toxic, non inclusive, abusive, uncaring and culturally bereft places - at least mine would!!!

Us against the world.

Just watch us come out and blow everyone away next year!

Tom Morris again putting it out that Petracca is not satisfied and has demanded to be traded.  He wants out.
“He is disgruntled, wants to break his contract, and play for a big rival club”.

—/—/—-/-:::-:/::::::/:::::://———-

this is the same Tom Morris who was SACKED by Fox Footy.

Morris was sacked after audio of him making offensive comments about then Fox Sports colleague Megan Barnard was leaked to social media.

A second clip featuring homophobic and racist slurs also emerged on social media before Morris was eventually sacked by Fox Footy in March 2022

Morris apologised for his comments at the time, describing them as “disgusting and disgraceful”.

I can tell you for a fact; Stengle would have been fine - if he was a horse.

Need that particular switch to be flicked, somehow, though. Didn't work too well on Friday, for example...

He posted that it was him who wanted to go back on, then deleted it. However not before a lot of people screen shot it.

Is it to late to change footy teams? I thought these days were over of good players leaving, board issues, leaks & fractions at the club & disappointment on the field.

Honestly this club keeps providing heartache after heartache

Petracca has issues with Melbourne's operations, and the handling of his horrific injury on King's Birthday as well as perceived welfare failures after that day are at the forefront of his desire to exit.

The Demons are far from blameless in this situation, for the off-field behaviour of some of Petracca's teammates has been out of control at times, even before the 2021 premiership. The ridiculous, constant and unconvincing denials of club officials of a flawed culture has made some issues far worse. But until Petracca was injured this year, he had been prepared to work with the wider problems in club operations.

That he wants to not just leave the Demons but go to a big Melbourne club is a sign of the selfishness of which some have tired. Brand Petracca doesn't want to play for any club, just one of the very big ones.

Kozzie Pickett weighs up trade request as Demons’ year from hell gets worse

media just loving MFC right now !!!

but wait the content is …

Melbourne’s year from hell could get even worse with star forward Kysaiah Pickett reportedly interested in exploring a trade for family reasons.

Seven’s Mitch Cleary reported the 23-year-old told the club of his homesickness during his exit meeting with coach Simon Goodwin on Tuesday.

However the report stated “the club and his management are confident they can work through his concerns”, suggesting a level of confidence the Demons can convince Pickett not to officially request a move.

Media are grubs

i wonder if it is just me or does every Melbourne story have a negative headline designed to deflate the club ? I realise there have been some issues (apparently) according to the media but as it stands (as far as we know via the club and/or CP) only Nibbler has asked for a trade.  We still have a good group of younger players and the older ones now have time to properly recover before another tilt next year.  Had we scored another goal in a few select games this year, we would be playing finals, it was that close.

I am tired of the media generating it's own garbage headlines. There are so many media people involved in the football industry that its like a pack of rabid dogs fighting over every small morsel of information. I can't believe them anymore, so until something actually happens, rather than unsubstantiated conversations or insider information, I will just wait and see what pans out.

Are all these rumour pieces about the Mfc , on News.com.su simply a ploy to advertise kayo.

Every single article from them has an big add for Kayo.

Sam Edmund. Sen.

Port Adelaide has renewed its interest in Melbourne forward Kysaiah Pickett. Pickett signed a new 4yr deal only last year, but the Power continue to reach out as the Dees battle their latest bout of player turbulence. Understand Adelaide & Freo have also asked the question. No suggestion at this stage that Pickett is considering leaving, just that the interest has again been made clear

Me. Demonland.

I have once again renewed my interest in Margo Robbie. No suggestion at this stage Margot is considering leaving her film producer husband for some weirdo on a footy forum, just that the interest has again been made clear.

Now it’s personal.

Bagging us for thanking Nibs? Not on my watch mother-[censored]. These bastards need to do their research, first find out WHY Nibs is leaving, the exact circumstances, then comment if they must.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
