Luker is an awesome kid. Settling well in Melbourne (he always gives me updates). He’s rapidly filling out and is “giving it everything” re training and fitness. He told me he copped an elbow to the face during play on Saturday. He still has the lumps and bruises to show for it. I told him I was there and saw it happen. He said, “and did you think now he’s not a pretty face?” I said, “Luker, you could have all your facial features smashed in and you’d still be a gorgeous boy.” He smiled and actually blushed. I said, “Geez, if I was a hundred years younger!” 😂😂😂

Thanks WCW...have our training reports ever been more wholesome??

I see Sesto in the back of that video? Any info on why he didn’t play for Casey on the weekend?

VFL guys still on deck? Obviously the young guys have to be but if I was BBB, Hunter or Schache and not getting a fair well I’d skip the training.

I suspect that the entire playing group was required for the team meeting (re Trac and BBB) immediately prior to training. It was a very gentle "flush" run so why not have  a run around to show "institutional  happiness"?

I do not understand why all the players are called by their Nick names, imagine if Tom Morris reported Spaz in a moonboot . Claz is ill, Spaz is also in a boot, Chin running laps, people on here would go spare.

So I'm led to believe Tracc is staying and all is right in the world? If so he really needs to come out and say it.

Give him time. He only just addressed the boys this morning. I’m guessing the situation is unexpectedly good, judging by the way the boys were loving the fact he was there. It’s hard to explain, especially in texting, the undeniable sense of unity, of turning over a new leaf. It was palpable. Even the trainers and property stewards and physios were in great spirits. Hell, if there was a boot-studder there I’m sure he’d be happy too.

Speaking of height, no Claz today so I walked to AAMI with KFW. I asked him what his official height is and he said he still hasn’t been measured but he thinks he’s 6ft10 😳 He said when he stands next to Max he feels like he’s the same height as him, “sometimes a little taller.” Again… 😳 And yes, I said that might just be because of his hair coupled with Max’s lack of.

WCW enjoy the reports.

If you get the opportunity, could you ask KFW if the club has organised special training/advice for him to add muscle, to give him his best chance at competing with the stronger bodied ruckmen?

Me… scared? Pfff. That word’s not in my vocabulary.

Me neither.
I usually spell it with a ‘t’.
‘Pffft’

Now ‘confelicity’ is definitely a word that’s not in my vocabulary.
But maybe it should be.

Who’s next?

Discussed Clarrie with Troy (Chaplin). Started by saying how much I appreciate the Club sticking by him. Troy said it goes both ways , that the Club appreciates Clarrie wanting to get back to where he was prior to last year. He said Clarrie has had a tougher time than folks know. He said they love how hard he’s working and how dedicated he is.

I also spell it with ‘t’…  when the sun’s not in my eyes and Melky’s not five metres away topless.

Meters not feet… that’d be too much 😝

How close is Clarry with his family?

I feel like one of his issues is feeling a bit isolated? No Partner, that I know of, or kids like most of his mates.

Apologies to @dazzledavey36 who said the boys call Judd “Silk” to which I replied “No they don’t, they call him Knuckles.” The large-knuckled boy himself said he gets called both names, he likes both names and wait for it… he doesn’t mind either name, he’s just “happy to be in the team.” Blesssssss 🥹 I can sense Luci tearing up right now. 😁

Is it your gut feeling from your interactions that Judd is happy where he is, considering he has yet to sign on after 2025?

The club is his family

I was talking to Chocco who told me No Spaz, No Leb this week. He said Leb is probs right to play but they’re “looking after him for next year.” Then he said, “Maysie’s looking good though.” I said, “Will he be playing this week?” He says, “Should be. Here we go, let’s see what he thinks!” Maysie happened to be approaching us. Chocco says, “WCW here wants to know if you’re playing on Friday. Maysie very eloquently said, “fckn oath I am!!!” 😂

I

If I ever manage to leave Seattle and get back to Melbourne, I am so hanging with you at training.  Last I was able to get to training was when we were down at the Junction oval, which is a wee while ago.  I was also too shy to talk much to anyone.

Thanks for the reports, things seem much happier now in Demonland.

Will he report on the scary looking lady that approached him during filming? 🤣🤣

let's hope he didn't file a report with the police for hate speech 😮

In still trying to work out who KFW is? King F Wit?

To be clear… I’m not saying I’m sure Tracc has decided to stay and everything’s hunky dory. What I am saying is he was very much enjoying being with his teammates, they were rapt he was there, it felt like “old times” when they were clearly a very close unit and I’d be shocked to hear he does wanna go.

Something else I found very telling… I heard Tracc say to at least four different people, “Hey (insert name), I’m sorry, I haven’t been on my phone, that’s why I haven’t replied to your texts” or a variation of this. He didn’t seem to mind saying it aloud, and he was genuine in his apology. One of the people was Jake, the property manager, and he received the apology with an understanding smile and nod. As did the others.

The initials are a bit of a giveaway.  Kyah Farris-White.

As long as it’s not rude and especially if it’s their actual nickname you can call a player whatever you like. It’s a training report by a poster on a forum. They aren’t journalists. If you don’t know a nickname just ask and someone will let you know. WCW and I don’t often get along but I’m glad for her reports and I don’t expect her to be spelling out surnames.

My best guess is that post leak, he was told to keep a low profile and not get on his phone. Makes a lot of sense.

100% confident he’ll re-sign.

  • PREVIEW: Sydney

The two teams competing at the MCG on Sunday afternoon have each traversed a long and arduous path since their previous encounter on a sweltering March evening in Sydney a season and a half ago. Both experienced periods of success at various times last year. The Demons ran out of steam in midseason while the Swans went on to narrowly miss the ultimate prize in the sport. Now, they find themselves outside of finals contention as the season approaches the halfway mark. The winner this week will remain in contact with the leading pack, while the loser may well find itself on a precipice, staring into the abyss. The current season has presented numerous challenges for most clubs, particularly those positioned in the middle tier. The Essendon experience in suffering a significant 91-point loss to the Bulldogs, just one week after defeating the Swans, may not be typical, but it illustrates the unpredictability of outcomes under the league’s present set up.

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.

Just a game and percentage outside the Top 8, the Demons return to Melbourne to face the Sydney Swans at the MCG, with a golden opportunity to build on the momentum from toppling the reigning premiers on their own turf. Who comes in, and who makes way?
