One does have to chuckle. Media= club in crisis, Oliver, Petracca and Viney all going. Early gameday thread goes into meltdown . Rabble, club asunder, sack the coach, no game plan, trade most players. Now, the Suns are not world beaters but we are the only interstate club to beat them on their own dung hill. Correction.  Destroyed them!  Not sure who is more overeactive. The media or those on this site. Our upside is huge. Trac, Clarry and Jack going nowhere.  Trade period will be active. Likely top 10 pick. Young 0layers developing at the rate of knots. With a modicum of good fortune we'll be up to our necks in it in 2025!

Stolen from a post on Twitter, but this a great pick up.

“Trac spent months in Queensland then conveniently avoided this away trip when so many of the injured players travelled, and our twos were up here too. Today was a very ‘whole club’ vibe. None of this is reflecting very well on him. This is a direction, and he’s not in on it.”

He can either get on the bus with the rest of the team, or he can get out, and go somewhere else, knowing that he will miss out on any shared success to come.

It would be great for Trac to stay, but the club can’t worry about losing players.

Even the best players are just threads in the culture of good teams and clubs.
Ask Buddy about leaving for more success elsewhere.

This high won’t last 😂🤩😳🤓

Well you can’t seem to get over me either. Salivating at the chance to troll me after every post.

I know I do some good work on here but sheesh it doesn’t justify a hard tag. You do know what they say about taggers though right?

Could we have something a little special on our hands with Disco Turner?

Couldn't have asked for more from the team today.

Jack Viney what a beast.

Turner was fantastic up forward.

McVee continued to build on his great form and gives us another option in the middle next year. I thought the Kolt had a decent game too, I do t get the queries over him, he's a first year player, played around 10 games but he knows how to find the footy and he is a footballer first (not athlete). I think he'll develop bicely over the next couple of years. Robbed of a goal today as well.

Roos looks ready to explode next year as well.

Kozzie very quiet and Rivers had a mare. Tomlinson not far behind him but TMac/Lever/Salem held the defence up.

Fantastic coaching too, completely nullified Rowell in the contest.

Beat the filth next week, end their finals hopes and finish up with a positive ledger (12-11) and we have something positive to take into next season.

I’m excited.
But not that excited.

Typical narcissistic behaviour.

😳

Ten goals shared almost equally between 3 key forwards. How often has that happened since 2021?

Definitely time to stuff up Collingwoods season for good as they did to us in 2017….still haven’t got fully over that worst day at the footy ever

Love Jack. 7th in the Brownlow last year and has been a warrior year after year.

Hope he stays, will be missed if he goes.

But, if he goes North, or whoever seeks his service, they must pay up.  No freebies.

Could be a win win.

Close, Czechia, Karlovy Vary which is the spa country and close to the German border.

There are also some lovely national parks northeast across the border if you have the time.

That's a super pleasing win considering our performance this season and scrutiny over the past week or two. Now we just need to end Collingwood's year and we'll be ending on a solid upswing.

Jack Viney is an absolute warrior. No Trac, Clarry, or Gus. Ably supported by Rivers and Langdon but boy he played so well. He's been really inconsistent this year obviously but when he flicks the switch he farkn goes. What a legend.

JVR, Disco, and Petty... our future tall timber up forward? The best thing about it is that all three of those guys are really dynamic, with JVR ably playing ruck and Petty and Disco both really good backmen. That versatility is such a handy problem to have when it comes to selection.

One thing to highlight was Kolts clean pickup late in the last quarter and instantaneous handball to a player running by. It cane from a centre bounce, absolutely class.

He will be a nice rotation through the midfield off a big preseason next year.

Nathan Jones said that Kolt was very highly rated internally.

It would be really nice if people fully understood and recognised that Petracca,Oliver and Viney are going nowhere. Fact. Full stop!!

I'm confident Clayton is going nowhere.

Pretty sure Viney will stay put too.

But on tracc it's as simple as you've got 5 years left on a contract. Work with us to make us better or retire and rescind your contract. We must not entertain a trade under any circumstance. Refuse to be bullied and stand together. If he's in great.  If he's out, he's out on his own, not in other colours.

If he wants out, then we have the power to demand some serious currency. I’d rather he move this year, so we can go to the draft, than in future compromised drafts.

Club is bigger than the player.

Impressive show of unity by the whole list sans one at home expecting a baby and another one gone missing somewhere after the game.

Please can someone post what Viney said after the match?

Not as bad as last year's final and the Brayshaw hit. That was the worst. Oh guess what, the same opponent. Just hate them so bad.

That would be great if indeed it was a fact. But it isn’t. Any or all of them leaving us is also not a fact. You can speculate on the likelihood of such but you can’t say anything is a fact.

Yes I can. I will wager any amount you care to nominate.

  • NON-MFC: Round 05

Gather Round is here, kicking off with a Thursday night blockbuster as Adelaide faces Geelong. The Crows will be out for redemption after a controversial loss last week. Saturday starts with the Magpies taking on the Swans. Collingwood will be eager to cement their spot in the top eight, while Sydney is hot on their heels. In the Barossa Valley, two rising sides go head-to-head in a fascinating battle to prove they're the real deal. Later, Carlton and West Coast face off at Adelaide Oval, both desperate to notch their first win of the season. The action then shifts to Norwood, where the undefeated Lions will aim to keep their streak alive against the Bulldogs. Sunday’s games begin in the Barossa with Richmond up against Fremantle. In Norwood, the Saints will be looking to take a scalp when they come up against the Giants. The round concludes with a fiery rematch of last year's semi-final, as the Hawks seek revenge for their narrow loss to Port Adelaide. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Geelong

There was a time in the second quarter of the game at the Cattery on Friday afternoon when the Casey Demons threatened to take the game apart against the Cats. The Demons had been well on top early but were struggling to convert their ascendancy over the ground until Tom Fullarton’s burst of three goals in the space of eight minutes on the way to a five goal haul and his best game for the club since arriving from Brisbane at the end of 2023. He was leading, marking and otherwise giving his opponents a merry dance as Casey grabbed a three goal lead in the blink of an eye. Fullarton has now kicked ten goals in Casey’s three matches and, with Melbourne’s forward conversion woes, he is definitely in with a chance to get his first game with the club in next week’s Gather Round in Adelaide. Despite the tall forward’s efforts - he finished with 19 disposals and eight marks and had four hit outs as back up to Will Verrall in the second half - it wasn’t enough as Geelong reigned in the lead through persistent attacks and eventually clawed their way to the lead early in the last and held it till they achieved the end aim of victory.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?
