Salem a liability today?

He’s playing very well imo

One of a few that playing from first bounce

Defensively he can't chase, he's still good with disposal for the most part.

But watch him trying to chase when we turnover the footy.

I don’t know if what we deserve after this season is listening to Dermie for 2 hours.
Someone take pity on us ffs!

Riv’s bad day gets worse 😂

He just talks for the sake of talking and he talks complete [censored].

Kick under no pressure, out in the full then a goal from said turnover. 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

Calling Trent Rivers Jared for 9 minutes was the highlight of his call.

Seriously slow and lazy, has to decide over summer if he wants to be an afl player again. The concern is to get him fit he might have to risk doing the hammy again and then he’s stuffed.

Nibbler, worst game I’ve seen him play. No coincidence

It’s either a coincidence or he’s doing too much, surround by new players, out of position. He’s having a dip. Anyone suggesting otherwise is mental

He’s never been quick and has slowed but his positioning, experience and kicking is desperately needed down back. An important leader

Kingy just said Mac Andrews has been a revolution...wtf

Disco dancing everywhere!

Great defensive efforts.

Going at 70% work rate for the position isn’t leadership.

Very proud of the effort so far. Viney just insane. Nobody takes Melbourne being attacked more personally than Jack!

Viney has gone full beast mode

10 contested to half time

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
