To...us?

We have definitely put our best foot forward with this one. I think it's GWS, Adelaide and then us (without really knowing).

I think you're right.

Very well played by Peatling's management, he'll get his bag.

Surprise surprise, players don't want to come into a burning building.

I'm sure some Demonlanders will blame Pert.

With Peatling out of the equation, let's hope we keep all our current and future 1st and 2nd round draft picks, and have a mini rebuild.

Plus the media don't want us getting anyone good. Only their teams.

If the Crows don't land him, they might double-down on Clarry, which gives us better leverage if that's the way it goes.

Did we offer him the best contract?

Might be a question for @Dannyz

So you don’t know.

But you’re comfortable stating that the reason why he’s possibly maybe not coming to Melbourne in a future decision he’s not publicly stated is because our club is ‘a burning building’?

You’re right, it’s possible that another club offered him more money and this is his motivation.

Doesn’t change the fact that we aren’t exactly an attractive destination to outsiders. Undergoing a review, wanting to offload one of our best players, still need at least two new line coaches, Trac’s saga. It’s not a good look when you’re trying to attract talent. People want a stable work place.

Listening over lunch break earlier and diagnosis is that Peatling likely to stay at Giants. 4 year deal is a solid win for him and his manager.  Definitely improved this year and his “hard at it “ style warranted others trying to get him.

Disappointing that we are not in the race anymore.

Let's hope the draftees want to come here because right now we're about us popular as a blowfly at a butcher's picnic.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
