Yep Twitter has an owner who is worth close a trillion dollars.

BigFooty...maybe is endorsed by clubs, managers...who knows.. would be interesting to know who runs and funds those larger websites.

I reckon this is true specially when it comes to the younger players.

Trust me… it’s true. One of our young boys quoted something he’d read on here about himself. How else would he know what gets posted on here? When I said you read Demonland? He said “Yeah, a few of us do.” I’m baffled by people’s insistence that this isn’t true. What’s so outlandish about it? It’s not beyond the realm of possibility.

It's naive of supporters to not think that there is wheeling and dealing done by the clubs behind a players back. If @goodwindees had posted that player x from another club is being shopped around, would you have the same objection?

That’s not actually what he said. He said the club isn’t shopping him around, but that we’ve been approached with an offer (maybe multiples?) and haven’t outright rejected it.

I reckon we’ve been approached by clubs for multiple players. Other clubs can smell blood.
Just as I’m sure clubs are in contact with the likes of West Coast and any other club that’s seen to be struggling or in a review process.

I complete believe what @goodwindees has posted, but even he clarified his original post as I think it made it seem like we are actively trying to trade Clarry, which is not the case. He even said later on thar he believes Clarry will stay.

Who posted it has everything to do with it. If Nudge from times past posted it, along with the dozen other trade rumours that he had, then by all means shout him down. But @goodwindees has a good track record.

Of course there is… there’s tons of wheeling and dealing. Why not post every single one of the possibilities/suggestions/offers/queries?

Like I’ve said already a couple of times now… IN MY OPINION it’s unnecessary and only serves to cause angst.

And if anyone posted about an opposition player being shopped around… I wouldn’t give a fat rat’s. Surely you know the difference. I also wouldn’t be receiving panicked messages from teenage Dees fans and an elderly Dees fan.

it’s my opinion and I’m entitled to it.

And a reasonable offer for a four time B and F, 3 x AA, 2x Coaches Assocn best player, would be .......

I love the bloke and I’m still contemplating getting a BANG BANG BANG tattoo but there are other things to consider (alongside his past accolades) to get a balanced view of whether we listen to offers;

a) struggle to finish top 10 in our b&f this year in a year we finished 10th

b) documented to have been exhibiting behaviour not in line with our standards for a number of years at a time the club clearly needs to make some form of change

c) brought the club to it’s knees at the end of last year because of his behaviour

d) seems to be in a better place and there is a chance he can get back to his best but that is by no means guaranteed

e) taking up a significant chunk of our salary cap for many years to come

Based on all of that, hard to argue 2x 1st rounders is an awful deal not worth listening to.

Makes sense, we humans look for validation sometimes. This is even more true for younger people, it is more so now in the era of social media.

I was told that we were getting Andrew Gaff a few years back by a friend with reasonable contacts and a good track record of supplying information. That not only turned out not to happen but apparently we never approached Gaff. I haven’t posted a rumour since. I have however posted a series of truly excellent posts which you can easily access in the Demonland back catalogue. Enjoy your day 🙋‍♂️

Interesting because I heard the opposite.  I heard we chased him hard during 2018 and Dom Tyson confirmed this on a podcast with Shane Crawford and it was one of the reason he was pushed out of the team as they were targeting a genuine wingman which Gaff and Josh Kelly were our prime targets.

Turns out we couldn't get either across the line.

Pretty funny if Tyson was getting pushed out because we were chasing the bloke who got selected with the pick we traded him in for.

These 180 degrees different opinions show how unreliable rumours are.

This denigration of a champion who has had one average season, playing most of it with a badly broken dominant hand, shows why I think this whole load of rubbish is potentially bad for his mental health.

Trade rumours are a bit of fun imo. No need to get too worked up over them. Not much else to talk about at this stage of the year except how jealous we are of the teams playing finals.

With Clarry there is the correlation vs causation question..? When he’s in best form we win flag, when his form drops our form drops.

Part of our recent success has been due to our midfield being so good we could play one less in the middle and still break even… with advantages elsewhere. Clarry was a huge part of that.

So if he can get back to his best, he’s one bird in the hand that you’d never trade for two in the bush (even high picks). Trac similar.

Oliver was injured for half the season last year when we hit our best patch of form. He came back for finals and played well but we lost both games anyway.

It's a team game. There's more to it than just one player.

I don't think a club is paying that for Clazz after the year he has had

Would then say WCE our 4,5 and MFC F1 for Reid?

That would be a very tempting offer.

If Trac ships off then we use those pics to complete  rebuild of midfield.

I would stop obsessing with Reid and get better value for those picks and draft our own players personally

But he is worth obsessing over though. He will be much better than Daicos and be able to change the course of games off his own foot.

Ask yourself, what you would have given to get Bont 3-4 years ago? 3 first rounders? We would essentially be getting a player of that ilk before he would even turn 21. I know the hype on him early was over-the-top, but i saw enough in his first year to know this kid will be the best player in the comp in 3-4 years time; maybe even sooner.

Compliment him with Windsor, Kolt, Rivers and another top 10 player, and that midfield will win you another 1-2 flags in the next decade.

Can someone bring me up to speed on what's happened or rumoured to happen with Oliver?

Nothing new

Clubs asking the question given what happened last year, but Clazz highly likely to stay

Interesting, maybe my friend was correct after all.

    AWESOME FOURSOME by Meggs

The rejuvenated Demons out tussled the Tigers by 13 points to make it four wins on the trot on Saturday which means that the slight possibility of a finals appearance remains alive in 2024. This is despite the AFLW handicapping the Demons against their peers yet again (more later). Lots to celebrate as it was Kids Day at Casey Fields and both teams ran onto the ground modelling their Pride jumpers.   Kate Hore won the toss and kicked to the Clyde end. Thankfully, the notorious Casey

    THE TRADING CHRONICLES 03

Part 3: Happier Days by Whispering Jack It would be fair to say that when the Melbourne Football Club entered the free agency and trade period earlier this month, its reputation was flagging, if not in tatters. The club was taking a battering in the media and social media over a number of issues, some real and others imaginary and even fabricated, relating to the running of the club, team performance and its culture, a build up that’s been taking place for more than twelve months. In this must-win clash between Melbourne 11th on the ladder and St Kilda 8th, it was the Demons who were in front all day to win in a hard-fought Round 8 clash to make it three in a row to keep theit slim finals chances alive. A good crowd of enthusiastic footy families for week 2 of Pride Round had gathered.  The full pews in the well-appointed RSEA Park grandstand provided excellent viewing.   The Saints won the toss and elected to kick to the southern end favoured by a strong 2-3 g
