Subbing out one of the 4 mids we had in the team (2 of which aren’t even full time mids) for Melksham and overloading the forward line would’ve been just about giving up.

And Melk was sub because we’ve got Gawn half injured and young key forwards. Plus no one better at Casey.

No issue with asking Clarry to push through. He still won more contested possessions than the rest of our mids.

I disagreed with your baking of Clarry for being unprofessional about his fitness this year. That was clear and obvious. I outlined how his efforts IMO do not represent him in that light. 
Thsts the issue. But let’s hope it is all for the better of Clarry now and for a bumper return next year when we again see him at his top winning games again for us.

I think we can assume we did so because it was the best thing for clarry.

You're looking at this with a selfish point of view

Do you care at all about the players welfare? (Oliver) You often come across as quite callous 

It's enough that you slag off at most of the players but you also don't seem to care about their health either

So if we make Clarrie stay out on the ground with 3 major injuries, how does that help his mental health?

Now that we know that Clarry as well as his hand issues, had PCL issues and also cracked ribs, we can ask that smart ars. commentator in the Port game, who said he went down too easily when hit in the ribs, to apologise.

There’s no major injuries here nor are there any indication any of them were at significant risk of worsening through playing out the game.

Grinding out games and seasons is the life of an afl player, especially a combative inside midfielder. 

I think I’ve kept my criticism of Oliver relative mild this year and I spout off on a forum. A forum I’d suggest no one at the club reads. I’m not targeting the club or players directly. And I suggest the club have ways to protect players from a few critical forum posts. God knows they get a lot worse.

I never hated Gus, I just thought he was a solid but overrated player that we could’ve moved on from rather than committing a long term deal to. For a number of reasons including his concussion history. But mostly to diversify the list talent by bringing in more outside run and skilled players rather than having so much tied up in similar types.

This season has certainly raised the question of whether Gus was a bigger leader than I thought from the outside although those things are hard to judge.

And of course I’ve missed him as a player this year because he would’ve been very handy.

Nothing is imaginary with me

You slag off at players like no other

And Gus being 'handy' only is another poor evaluation

If he wasn't our most versatile player, I don't know who was.  Maybe even our most valuable player with all the different roles that he could play

As for our treatment of Oliver in leaving him on the ground with 3 major injuries, the MC must have the finger pointed at them

The above is the sort of thing that the media should be all over but the media are more inclined to look for the gossip so they'll miss it

The club might need a full internal review just to find out if we do have some pressing issues internally.  I'd be surprised if a review doesn't unearth at least a few issues

But internal reviews always have a sniff of 'Boys Club' about them so best done from an external source.  Will that happen?  I doubt it

Assume you never got around to watching the 2021 GF ? Gus Brayshaw was instrumental in that victory 

And it’s clear that you totally underestimated his leadership and influence on the playing (and I suspect coaching) group

Cmon Sue, Clarry was an absolute liability against Port, l really felt sorry him, he tried his guts out but couldn’t run, he fumbled & look completely exhausted, he would’ve hated to see footage of that.

He’s a competitive beast  & like Petracca sometimes you have to be told “your not playing”or in Tracs case “you’re not coming back on”

Unprofessional by whoever let this happen

Sue you might never make a change if you always wanted someone better. You have to take a chance in selection and can’t make changes in life. Where there is will or a way.

Kynan needs games give him a chance. Good for experience or get Jeffo  in and make a positional change or two. 

I think most of the criticism of Clarry has been justified and mostly quiet objective. He has been disappointing, he knows he has a reputation for illegal handball yet keeps on doing it. His delivery & kicking this year have been poor. He gets sucked into giving away dumb free kicks.

His poor turnover arguably cost us the Port game. He got paid a massive amount and was poor this year and those are called facts.

I think my posts are quiet balanced & offset the apologists on here who are always looking for excuses for underperforming players, coaches or MFC officials. 

Part of the reason for our lack of success since the Norm Smith era is the army of sycophantic supporters always ready to trot out excuses for underperforming instead of demanding accountability.
