If he wants a big Vic club that makes a field of four IMO. Carlton, Collingwood, Geelong or Hawthorn. He won’t want Richmond they have a long stay at the bottom coming up. None of those have the draft picks or the salary space for a salary that he wants without releasing a well paid very good player. Don’t relent MFC a top five draft pick and a good player or he remains at the MFC.

This is either going to be a multiple club-involved trade so he can get to Carlton or Collingwood OR he just stays and works it out. As much as people are turning on the guy here I don't think he'd sit out a season over all of this.

I know the value of two players would supersede Harley Reid, but would we do it?

Edit: We were going to give a massive trove of picks to the Eagles for Pick 1, All of the picks we'd get for Tracc and Pickett would be about the equivalent of that trove.

I thought we have two types of free agent, restricted and unrestricted. 

I'm not clear on the qualifying rules, just my simple understanding...

Serious answer, in Petracca's own words, as reported by AAP on June 17:

"We got an initial scan around eight or nine o'clock at night, and the first scan showed two cracked ribs and then just a little bit of bleeding around the lung," he said.

"I think 15 minutes later, one of the doctors was just checking my blood levels, and noticed my haemoglobin was dropping severely, and my blood levels were dropping.

"So they go, 'Let's just do another scan'. And that's when they started to notice I had four cracked ribs, the grade-five spleen and a punctured lung too.

"So it went from being a four out of 10 to basically a 10 out of 10, it was the equivalent of a car accident."

There are plenty of other references to the injury as grade 5. Just try Googling it.

If we let Track get to Collingwood or Carlton then equalisation and fairness are dead. It's setting a dangerous precedent where a perfect storm (natural or manufactured) can see a star player move to a powerful club if their management team are shrewd enough to attempt a sudden break of contract such as this.

1. Unhappy with med treatment and post injury Comms and want out? Here’s the list managers number for Norf and Richmond.  Both have satisfied our trade demands. Take a pick - no need to go down grievance route.

2. Unhappy with standards, game plan, direction etc? Sit your [censored] down and help us out. We will see you at day 1 pre season. If still unhappy we can better deal 2025 draft and get you the Pies who’ll have cap space as half their team will have retired. Well also take their first pick and F1 too. 

3. Want to build brand Trac? Good luck with that. If you want a trade to Blues , you must hold a press conference declaring the reasons you want to go otherwise See you day 1 pre season.

This is how I’d play every scenario.

True and stinks.  If he truly had a giant clash with the MFC, then leaving would be OK.  But to my mind nothing we have heard, even if all piled together, justifies what he seems to be doing.  Now maybe there are things we haven't heard and maybe he isn't doing what he seems to be.  But I very much doubt that.

Exactly. Even if he doesn’t play a single game next year, I’d rather him out of the spotlight so he becomes irrelevant in a football sense. The Trac camp would be stupid to let that happen. It’s 1 year lost in the twiglight of his career. We just have to hold firm.

You know it would not surprise me if he did not play in 2025. The injuries he sustained were very bad. It will take some time mentally and physically to get over.
