That's the confusing thing for me, if you want to go somewhere, surely you don't kick the hornets nest if it's not seemingly possible unless you want to be stung.

Not everyone thinks everything through.

Family might "like" one thing... but !!!

I could.  Does he also not trust the docs at the hospital that missed the seriousnesss of the injury for several hours despite havig diagnostic equipment not available at a footy ground?  If so, he needs to have a quiet think.  I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he doesn't think that.  But what really annoys me is others who have blamed our docs publically and posters here who accept that line.  Sure they got it wrong but hindsight is a wonderful thiing.

If a player gets even a mild concussion, it is now compulsory for him/her to be taken off the field and go into the protocols.

Yet a player obviously in severe pain was allowed to return to the game. Rigorous physical testing in the dressing-room would surely have revealed that something serious was amiss. In such a case, the only sensible course is to send the injured player to hospital for further examination.

The decision to clear Trac for a return to the field placed his life in danger.

That, whatever plausible reasons and excuses are offered, is a fact.

I really hate this influencer thing.  A bloke is on $1M/year for several years so he's in a good position to launch his life post football.  There are plenty of jobs which with his profile he could walk into in AFL land and doubtless many other things which are of some productive value to society.  But to effectively just become a stooge for promoting products and producing nothing of value is very sad.

Lionel Messi makes more money off social media than he does playing football.

If you can get it right the rewards are very large.

Frankly I'm surprised how few of the big AFL players are into it

But apparently “rigorous physical testing” plus scans at the hospital didn’t “surely have revealed something serious “ so why should docs at the ground know better.

Tigers asking for pick 6 for Rioli from the Suns. Suns don’t need to play that hard due to academy players coming through that they can get for combined picks.

Tigers then offer us Pick 1 and 6 for Tracc. We then take 1,5 and 6 at the draft. Tracc goes to a bigger Vic club, and sees he’s old mate Yze.

I love the math but in absolutely no world does it make sense for Richmond to shed experienced players in a re-build only to give up 2x top 6 picks for a 29 year old.

I’d love to live in that world but unfortunately it doesn’t exist.

I think the point they're making is that he shouldn't have (and anyone else with suspected rib injuries) be sent back on the field.

I'm actually genuinely starting to think he should just retire.

We don't get picks that way!

1. So the club has an exit interview with CP and the contents are leaked to the media?

You would be pretty sure thats coming from the CP camp... can't imagine its in the club's interest to leak it.

2. CP could end the speculation immediately but he hasn't.

Not devaluing the importance of Trac to our team or his value on the open market (current injury issues included) but I think a lot here think we're going to get a bounty and might be bitterly disappointed with any haul in a trade. Just my 2 cents.

Not to be a smart alec but watching the incident live and watching him go back on it was blindingly obvious he was in immense discomfort and pain. I even said to my colleague "I can't believe they are letting go back on"

That may be true but until that is applied uniformly across the AFL it is poor form to single out one clubs docs since it currently happens often.

Whilst I've no doubt there is substance to Petracca wanting out, let's not forget that the media is keen for this to run and run. And rather than confirming 'facts' from reliable sources they now confirm their own stories with each other. A veritable circle jerk.

Case in point - read something today (can't remember what but concerning Trac) where one bottom-feeding muckraker claimed that his rumor had been substantiated by a slightly more elevated muckraker in Sam Edmund. Well that settles it, must be true.

This! Petracca is going nowhere.

Completely agree. Worth 2 top 10 picks at his best but there is no guarantee he gets anywhere near that again. If there's a single top 10 pick on any table I think the club will seriously consider it. After his ordeal, any club would be taking a huge risk with his contract.

I can see a reality where we end up paying a significant portion of his contract if he does move...
